Northwest Missouri State University: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
Northwest Missouri State University asks international applicants to send official transcripts certified and sealed by the issuing school, with certified translations attached to the native-language transcripts; it does not say who must make the translation. Northwest Missouri State University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Northwest evaluates foreign records itself, so it asks for no outside credential evaluation, but it does want individual mark sheets, course syllabi for university work abroad and, for Nepal, USEF attestation, none of which we issue.
Certified, attached
Translations travel with the sealed native-language transcript.
No outside evaluation
Northwest reads mark sheets and syllabi itself.
USEF for Nepal
Nepalese transcripts need USEF Nepal attestation.
Northwest requirements at a glance
| What Northwest asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation | Certified translations attached to the official transcripts, which stay in the native language (apply page); the 2026-27 catalog says "official translations" (catalog). |
| Who may translate | Not stated. |
| Transcripts | Certified and placed in a sealed envelope by the issuing institution and sent by post; they become Northwest's property and are not returned (source). |
| Evaluation | None from an outside agency. Northwest evaluates transcripts for admission and transfer credit, and asks for individual mark sheets for college coursework (source, timeline). |
| Transfer applicants | Syllabi for every course taken at a university outside the US (source); the catalog adds that transcripts are not evaluated until the syllabi arrive (catalog). |
| Country rules | Nepal: transcripts attested by USEF Nepal. GCSE, IGCSE or O Level: five subjects at D or better (source). |
| Where to send | Official transcripts and score reports by post to the Office of Admissions; all other documents by email to intladm@nwmissouri.edu (source). |
| Graduate | The Graduate Office sends international applicants to the same international pages (source); a degree from abroad is judged by its recognition in the home country (graduate catalog). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. Northwest's international application checklist says certified translations must be attached to the official transcripts and does not restrict who makes them, so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Sealed transcript, translation attached
Northwest's international checklist is specific about the package. The issuing school certifies the transcript and seals it in an envelope, and it goes to Maryville by post, along with any certificates of graduation. The translation does not replace anything: Northwest wants the transcript in its original language, with the certified translation attached to it. Official transcripts and official score reports are the documents Northwest names for the post; all other documents may be emailed.
The checklist does not say how the translation should be attached when the school seals the envelope, so ask the Office of Admissions before you order it. The catalog adds two details: if you are still enrolled in a college or university, you send partial transcripts, and every transcript becomes Northwest's property and cannot be released back to you.
Mark sheets and syllabi, read in Maryville
Northwest does not send you to WES or another agency. Its staff evaluate foreign records for admission and for transfer credit, and the deadlines are set to leave time for that review. That is why the checklist asks for individual mark sheets for college coursework rather than a consolidated certificate, and why transfer applicants must provide syllabi (course descriptions) for every course taken at a university outside the United States. The 2026-27 catalog is firmer than the web page: transcripts will not be evaluated until the syllabi are received.
First-year applicants need the equivalent of a 2.00 GPA after conversion to the US scale; Northwest says it respects each country's own university entrance rules, so a student not eligible for university at home is unlikely to be admitted (admission criteria). Graduate applicants need a bachelor's degree from an accredited US university or one recognized by the Ministry of Education, and some master's programs set GRE minimums (290 for Applied Computer Science, 285 for Information Systems).
Where Northwest's pages differ
The apply page and the older checklist PDF ask for "certified" translations; the 2026-27 undergraduate catalog says "official" translations. The apply page also says there is no application fee, while the catalog and the PDF list a $75 non-refundable fee, and the PDF's bank-balance figures are lower than the current page's. Deadlines differ as well: the graduate catalog lists July 1 for fall, while the international timeline asks for the fall application by June 15 and documents by July 1. We have not resolved these differences; the current web pages are the ones the Office of Admissions links from its checklist, and the Office can confirm.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Northwest
Transcripts travel by post in the issuing school's sealed envelope, in the original language with the certified translation attached, to the Office of Admissions, 800 University Drive, Maryville, MO 64468 (source).
Other documents, including the passport copy and, after admission, the Statement of Support and bank statement, are emailed to intladm@nwmissouri.edu (source).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For Northwest that means we translate your transcripts, mark sheets and diplomas; the sealed envelope comes from your school and USEF Nepal attestation comes from USEF.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my transcripts for Northwest Missouri State?
Northwest asks for certified translations attached to the official transcripts and does not name who must translate (source). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation.
Do I need a WES or ECE evaluation?
No outside evaluation is listed. Northwest evaluates your transcripts itself, using individual mark sheets and, for transfer applicants, course syllabi (source).
Can I email my transcripts?
Official transcripts must be certified and sealed by the issuing institution and sent by post; other documents can be emailed to intladm@nwmissouri.edu (source).
I am from Nepal. What else do I need?
Nepalese applicants must have transcripts attested by USEF Nepal (source); the catalog says secondary school transcripts from Nepal must be certified by USEF-Nepal (catalog).
When are the international deadlines?
From your home country: fall application by June 15 and documents by July 1; spring by November 1 and November 15. Summer entry is only for the Information Systems and Applied Computer Science master's (timeline).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
