How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Northeastern State University requires an official high school transcript, sealed by the school and covering at least three years, accompanied by an English translation; it does not say who must translate.

Northeastern State University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

Transfer students with credit earned outside the US also need a course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE before credit is posted, which we do not provide.

NSU at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

NSU says the official transcript "must be accompanied by an English translation" and does not restrict who translates (international undergraduate admission); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

NSU requirements in detail

Translation

The official transcript must be accompanied by an English translation unless it is already in English (International undergraduate admission).

Who may translate

Official transcript

Sent and sealed by the institution, at least three years of high school, with a 4.0-scale GPA listed (International undergraduate admission).

Digital copies

Can be used for the admission decision; official transcripts are due on arrival in the US (International undergraduate admission).

Transfer credit

A course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE before credit from outside the US is posted (International undergraduate admission).

Deadlines

Fall: July 1; spring: November 1 (International undergraduate admission).

What NSU checks on the transcript

NSU defines an official transcript with four conditions: sent and sealed by the school, at least three years of high school, an English translation, and a GPA on a 4.0 scale (International undergraduate admission).

A translation reproduces the grades as the school recorded them and does not add a GPA; if your school does not print a 4.0-scale GPA, ask NSU's Office of International Programs how it wants it shown before the file is delayed. Digital copies with their translation are enough for the decision.

Transfers: WES or ECE first

Transfer applicants send transcripts from each college attended instead of the high school record, and credit earned outside the US needs a course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE before it can be posted (International undergraduate admission).

WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator; ECE accepts any complete, literal translation or translates internally for an $85 waiver.

Need a certified translation for NSU?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcript, at least three years
  • High school diploma
  • College or university transcripts (transfers)
  • Bank documents, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to NSU

  • Upload digital copies with the translation for the decision, and have the official sealed transcript mailed to the Office of International Programs; it must be received when you arrive (International undergraduate admission).

  • We can send the certified translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For NSU that means we translate your transcripts and diplomas; we do not compute a GPA, and the WES or ECE evaluation for transfer credit is ordered by you.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does NSU accept an eVerbary translation?

NSU asks for an English translation and does not say who must make it (International undergraduate admission); a certified translation from a professional service qualifies.

Will eVerbary add a 4.0 GPA to my translation?

No. The translation reproduces your grades; NSU asks for the GPA on the transcript (International undergraduate admission), so ask its office how to provide it.

Which evaluation does NSU want for transfer credit?

A course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE (International undergraduate admission).

When are the deadlines?

July 1 for fall and November 1 for spring (International undergraduate admission).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
