How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
The University of Tulsa evaluates international transcripts internally when they are in English or accompanied by an English translation, so applicants do not need a third-party evaluation service; for transfer credit, course descriptions and syllabi from non-US institutions must be sent with certified translations.
TU does not say who must translate. The University of Tulsa accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

TU requirements in detail
Translation
Transcripts in English or accompanied by an English translation; course descriptions and syllabi from non-US institutions with certified translations (International applicants).
Who may translate
Not stated (International applicants).
Evaluation
Done internally by TU, with no third-party service; no preliminary evaluations before you apply (International applicants).
Official transcripts
From every secondary school and university, sent by the school by email to international@utulsa.edu, by mail or electronically; student uploads are non-official but usable for the admission review (International applicants).
Transfer credit
A transfer credit and articulation specialist issues an equivalency report from your transcripts, course descriptions and syllabi (International applicants).
Timing
Allow two to three months for the whole process, visa included (International applicants).
TU reads your translation itself
Many universities send foreign records to an evaluation agency; The University of Tulsa does the evaluation itself, as long as each transcript is in English or comes with an English translation (International applicants).
That saves the agency fee, but it means the translation is what TU's staff read: translate every page, grade, grading scale and stamp.
You can upload copies for the admission review and have your schools send the official transcripts later. Official IGCSE, A-Level, IB or AP results are also requested where they apply.
Transfer credit: syllabi with certified translations
For courses taken at a non-US institution, TU asks for the course descriptions and syllabi with certified translations, and its transfer credit and articulation specialist produces a report of what transfers and how (International applicants).
With more than 48 semester hours, no secondary school transcript is needed; with fewer, send it as well. You must complete the last 45 credit hours at TU to graduate.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to TU
Upload the translations with your transcripts in the TU application portal or email them to international@utulsa.edu; schools send the official transcripts directly (International applicants).
We can also send the certified translation to the admissions office by email on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does The University of Tulsa accept an eVerbary translation?
TU accepts transcripts accompanied by an English translation and asks for certified translations of syllabi, without saying who translates (International applicants); a certified translation from a professional service qualifies.
Do I need a WES or other credential evaluation for TU?
No. TU evaluates transcripts internally (International applicants).
Do my syllabi need to be translated?
Yes, for transfer credit: course descriptions and syllabi with certified translations (International applicants).
Can I upload my own copies?
Yes, for the admission review; official transcripts must still come from your school (International applicants).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
