How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
McLennan Community College asks F-1 applicants who finished secondary school outside the US for a general evaluation of the foreign high school diploma or transcript, conducted by a NACES member, even if they also attended college abroad; it sets no translation rule of its own.
MCC's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation
MCC accepts any NACES member, so the translation rule is the one of the agency you choose. WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE wants a complete, literal translation in the same format, lets applicants translate themselves and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for its report.
IERF wants a literal, line-by-line translation and may require a professional one; FCSA, in Austin, accepts certified translations from most professional agencies.
Some NACES members accept only translators certified by ATA, so read your agency's page before ordering.
A high school evaluation, whatever came after
MCC's step 2 for prospective F-1 students has two cases, and both end the same way: a high school graduate from abroad who never attended college, and one who also attended a college or university abroad, each submit a general evaluation of the foreign high school diploma or transcript (Prospective international students).
A general report is usually cheaper and quicker than a course-by-course one; ask the agency for that type.
Students transferring their F-1 from another US college send college transcripts through GetMyTranscript.com, by mail or in person to Highlander Central (transfer students). MCC does not accept F-1 students in terminated status (International students FAQ).

- Secondary school transcripts or mark sheets

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to MCC
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records (WES, for example, takes uploads in your WES account: WES: translation requirements); the agency's general evaluation goes to MCC, and official transcripts are mailed or sent through a secure third party (Prospective international students).
Questions go to international-admissions@mclennan.edu.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For MCC that means we translate your high school records; the general evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does McLennan require a translation or an evaluation?
A general evaluation of your foreign high school record by a NACES member (Prospective international students); the agency asks for the translation.
I studied at a university abroad. What does MCC evaluate?
Your high school diploma or transcript, with a general evaluation (Prospective international students).
Which agency should I use?
Any NACES member (Prospective international students). WES, ECE, IERF and FCSA accept translations from a professional service.
When is the deadline?
