How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026

Baylor University asks international undergraduates for academic records in the original language with an official literal English translation, and its Graduate School asks for a separate word-for-word translation that mirrors the original, from the school itself or a professional, certified translator.

Baylor University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

Evaluations are optional: undergraduate admissions accepts only ECE or WES reports if you use one, and the Graduate School partners with WES and SpanTran and accepts NACES members; those reports come from the agency, not from us.

Baylor at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Baylor's Graduate School says the translation should come from the school or "a professional, certified translator" (graduate required documents), and undergraduate admissions asks for an official literal English translation without restricting who makes it (international application process); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets both. Worth knowing about Baylor

Literal, word for word

The translation must mirror the original as closely as possible.

Evaluation optional

Undergraduate: only ECE or WES if you use one.

Upload first

Unofficial copies complete the file; official records before enrolling.

Baylor requirements in detail

Translation (undergraduate)

Records in the original language, accompanied by an official literal English translation (International application process, by region).

Translation (graduate)

A separate, word-for-word English translation of every academic record, containing all information on the original and mirroring it as precisely as possible; dual-language transcripts are acceptable (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

Who may translate

Undergraduate pages do not say. Graduate School: the school itself or a professional, certified translator (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

Evaluation

Optional.

Undergraduate admissions accepts only ECE or WES, with copies of the original transcripts (International application process); the Graduate School strongly encourages one, partners with WES and SpanTran and accepts NACES members (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

Where to upload

Undergraduates upload a scanned copy in goBAYLOR or email international_admissions@baylor.edu; graduate uploads go to the application file and count as unofficial (undergraduate, graduate).

Official records

Undergraduate: sealed and signed envelope, secure electronic service, or email from the counselor's school address; certified photocopies with a school or government signature and stamp are acceptable (International application process).

Graduate: registrar's signature and seal, sealed envelope or secure e-delivery to Grad_Transcripts@baylor.edu (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

Deadlines (undergraduate)

First-year: November 1 (Early Decision and Early Action) and February 1 (Regular Decision). Transfer: November 15 for spring, June 1 for fall (International application process).

Literal and word for word: what Baylor means

Both levels ask for a translation that follows the original closely. Undergraduate admissions wants an official literal English translation with the records in their original language (International application process).

The Graduate School spells it out: a separate, word-for-word English translation of all academic records, containing all the information on the original-language documents and mirroring them as precisely as possible (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

A summary or a list of courses with converted grades would not meet that. We translate every line, stamp and grade as it appears, in the same order and layout as the original.

ECE or WES only, if you choose an evaluation

Undergraduate admissions does not require an outside evaluation, but if you send one it accepts only Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES), and the report must come with copies of the original transcripts (International application process).

Baylor reviews each transcript individually; transcripts or mark sheets must show years of enrollment, course titles and every mark for 6 semesters, and schools with only three years of secondary school should also send the previous year.

The Graduate School says an evaluation is not required but strongly encouraged and may speed up your review; it has partnered with WES and SpanTran and otherwise accepts only NACES members (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

Unofficial now, official after admission

At both levels you can apply with unofficial copies.

Undergraduates upload a scanned transcript in goBAYLOR; final enrollment depends on an official transcript and official exam results, and external exam results such as IGCSE, WAEC, CBSE or IB must come from the school (International application process).

Graduate applicants' uploads are unofficial; official copies are needed only after an offer (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

If your university issues only one original, the Graduate School lets the university attest a copy and send it directly, or you bring the original to the Graduate School before the first day of class (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Baylor

  • Undergraduates upload the original-language transcript and the translation in goBAYLOR, or email them to international_admissions@baylor.edu; the official transcript follows from the school before enrollment (International application process).

  • Graduate applicants upload the records and their word-for-word translations to the application file; official copies follow after an offer, from the university by mail or secure electronic delivery (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Baylor that means we translate your records; an optional ECE, WES or SpanTran evaluation is ordered from the agency, and official transcripts come from your school.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Who can translate my records for Baylor?

The Graduate School accepts the school itself or a professional, certified translator (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants); undergraduate admissions asks for an official literal translation without naming who makes it (International application process). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.

Do I need a credential evaluation for Baylor?

No, it is optional. Undergraduate admissions accepts only ECE or WES reports, with copies of the original transcripts (International application process).

Is a dual-language transcript enough?

For the Graduate School, yes: dual-language transcripts are acceptable (Graduate School: required documents for international applicants).

Can I upload unofficial transcripts?

Yes. Unofficial copies complete the application at both levels; official records are needed before enrollment or after an offer (undergraduate, graduate).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
