How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
Long Island University's admissions policy asks international applicants for original official records of all secondary and university work and, when they are not in English, official certified translations in English; it does not say who must make them.
Long Island University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
A professional evaluation of university credits from a NACES member is required in some cases, and the College of Pharmacy wants records attested by the issuing school or a consulate or ministry; we provide neither.
LIU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
LIU's admissions policy and its LIU Post catalog ask for "official certified translations in English" and do not say who must make them (admissions policy, catalog), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Policy checked on October 21, 2026.

Deadlines
They differ between LIU pages; see "Where LIU's pages differ" below.
Where the rule is written
LIU's international "How to Apply" page lists the transcripts it wants but says nothing about translations (International admissions: How to Apply).
The translation rule is in the university's Admissions Policy and repeated in the LIU Post 2026-2027 catalog: original official records of all secondary school and university work, including the graduation certificate, and official certified translations in English if they are in another language.
Because both the original and the translation are requested, upload them together: the original-language record first, then its translation, with the name of the diploma and every subject and grade as issued.
Schools and programs with their own rule
The College of Pharmacy, in Brooklyn, asks for undergraduate transcripts or mark sheets for each year of study and the degree certificate, translated into English, as originals or as copies certified or attested by an official of the issuing school or by the Consulate or Ministry of Education of the issuing country (College of Pharmacy: international students).
If you apply there, check how your school or ministry attests copies before you order the translation. Pharmacy recommends having everything in by May 1 for fall and November 1 for spring.
LIU Global asks international transfer students for transcripts in the original language with an English translation or evaluation from an approved evaluator, and lists World Education Services among them (LIU Global: application instructions); WES asks for a word-for-word translation from a professional translator (WES).
In the LIU Post catalog, the Palmer School also asks for official certified translations, and the M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science asks international applicants for a WES or Globe evaluation (catalog).
Where LIU's pages differ
The deadlines for international applicants are not the same on every LIU page.
The Admissions Policy says February 1 for fall and September 1 for spring; the LIU Post 2026-2027 catalog says May 1 and November 1; the international How to Apply page says admission is rolling up to the start of the semester and recommends applying 5 to 12 months ahead.
We have not resolved this; ask the Office of International Admissions which date applies to your program, and leave time for the translation.
Need a certified translation for LIU?

Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts and the graduation certificate
- University transcripts or mark sheets for each year of study
- Degree certificates and diplomas
- Records for the NACES evaluation of university credits, when required
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to LIU
After you submit the online application, LIU emails a reminder to upload transcripts and English certificates in the Document Upload Center; if you cannot, email them to international.admissions@liu.edu (International admissions: How to Apply). Upload each translation with its original-language record.
LIU Global applicants send their package to LIU Brooklyn Admissions by email or mail (LIU Global: application instructions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For LIU that means we translate your records; the NACES evaluation, when required, comes from the agency, and the College of Pharmacy's attestation comes from your school or the ministry.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my documents for LIU?
LIU's admissions policy asks for official certified translations in English and does not name who must make them (LIU Admissions Policy (PDF)). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation.
Do I need a credential evaluation for LIU?
The policy asks for a NACES evaluation of university credits "if required" (LIU Admissions Policy (PDF)); some programs name the agency, such as WES or Globe for Clinical Laboratory Science (catalog).
How do I send my documents?
Through the Document Upload Center after you apply, or by email to international.admissions@liu.edu (International admissions: How to Apply).
What does the College of Pharmacy ask for?
Transcripts or mark sheets for each year and the degree certificate, translated into English, as originals or copies attested by the issuing school or the Consulate or Ministry of Education (College of Pharmacy: international students).
What is the deadline for international applicants?
LIU's pages differ: February 1 and September 1 in the policy, May 1 and November 1 in the Post catalog, rolling on the How to Apply page. Confirm with admissions.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
