Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from Lincoln University's public pages (sources).
Lincoln University in Oakland requires that all documents in foreign languages come with a notarized English translation, and that copies of original documents be notarized; applicants with education abroad also need a transcript evaluation by a member of AACRAO, which can be done at Lincoln.
It does not say who must translate; Lincoln University (Oakland) accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. eVerbary adds notarization of the translation for $34.90 per order; the evaluation is not something we provide.
Lincoln University at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Lincoln says all documents in foreign languages must be accompanied by a notarized English translation and does not restrict who translates (international admission); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary, notarized at checkout, is that kind of translation. Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Financial documents
Declaration of finances or affidavit of support with a bank statement or bank letter showing at least $29,065 for one year (International students admission).
Transfer credit
Official transcripts of all university courses; credits from foreign institutions approved by a Ministry of Education may transfer (Transfer of credits).
Fee
$95 application fee (General admission requirements).
Two kinds of notarization
Lincoln asks for notarization twice. The international page says every document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized English translation (International students admission).
The general requirements add that copies of original documents should be notarized, with a notarized translation if they are not printed in English (General admission requirements).
These are separate steps: eVerbary notarizes the translation for $34.90 per order, while a notarized copy of your original diploma or transcript is made by a notary where you live.
This applies to more than transcripts: a bank statement, bank letter or sponsor's affidavit in another language needs one too. Application documents become university property and are not returned, so send copies, not originals (International students admission).
An evaluation Lincoln can do in-house
Applicants with prior education abroad provide a transcript evaluation by a member of AACRAO, and Lincoln notes that this can be done at the university itself (International students admission).
For transfer credit, Lincoln accepts credits from foreign institutions approved by a local Department or Ministry of Education, recalculated to semester units, as determined by the Registrar (transfer of credits).
Translate course titles and the grading legend so the Registrar can match your courses.

Uploading the translation to Lincoln University
Apply online, pay the $95 fee and send the documents with their notarized translations to the Admissions Department, 401 15th Street, Oakland; applications are reviewed once every document is in (General admission requirements; international).
On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Lincoln University that means we translate and notarize the translation; notarized copies of your originals and the AACRAO-member evaluation are done elsewhere or at Lincoln.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
