Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from Harrisburg University's public pages (sources).

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology publishes no translation rule of its own: an approved credentialing service such as World Education Services or Educational Credential Evaluators must evaluate applicants who completed their education outside the US, and graduate transfer credit needs a course-by-course report from one of the two.

Harrisburg University's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
  • Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
  • Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
  • Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Harrisburg University requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the translation is what WES or ECE needs to evaluate a document not in English.

Who may translate

Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator (WES); ECE also accepts the applicant's own translation (ECE).

Evaluation (undergraduate)

An approved credentialing service such as WES or ECE must evaluate students who completed their education outside the US (Undergraduate admissions requirements).

Evaluation (graduate)

WES or ECE evaluates students with a bachelor's degree; transfer credit needs a WES or ECE course-by-course evaluation, up to six credits (Graduate admissions requirements).

Transcripts

Upload scanned official or unofficial transcripts; if accepted, official transcripts come directly from each school to Transcripts@HarrisburgU.edu or sealed by mail to 326 Market Street (Undergraduate admissions requirements).

English

Undergraduate: TOEFL 80, IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 115 (Undergraduate admissions requirements). Graduate: Duolingo 105 (Graduate admissions requirements).

Funds

Undergraduate: $41,400 for one year, plus $5,000 for a spouse and $2,500 per child (Undergraduate admissions requirements).

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

Harrisburg names only World Education Services and Educational Credential Evaluators.

WES requires a precise, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, does not accept translations made by applicants and does not translate documents itself; you upload the translation in your WES account.

ECE asks for a complete, literal, word-for-word translation in the same format as the original, lets applicants prepare their own, and for $85 sells a Translation Waiver under which it translates internally for the report only, without giving you a translation.

A certified eVerbary translation meets the WES rule and the ECE rule, and you keep it for other uses, such as an employer or a later application.

Undergraduate and graduate rules

For undergraduate degrees the rule is broad: anyone who completed their education outside the US needs the evaluation (undergraduate admissions).

The graduate page applies it to students with a bachelor's degree and adds that graduate credits you want transferred need a course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE, with at most six credits accepted (graduate admissions).

Graduate applicants in the US must apply 15 days before a semester starts and all others two months before the program start date (Graduate admissions requirements). Allow time for the translation and the agency's processing within that window.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Secondary school diploma and transcripts, for undergraduate applicants
  • Bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts
  • Graduate transcripts, for a course-by-course report if you want credit
  • Bank statement or affidavit of support, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Harrisburg University

  • The translation goes to WES or ECE with your records; the agency sends the evaluation to Harrisburg. With the application you upload scanned transcripts, and after acceptance the school sends the official ones (Undergraduate admissions requirements).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Harrisburg University that means we translate your records for the agency; the WES or ECE evaluation is ordered by you after the translation.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
