Georgia Northwestern Technical College asks students with foreign records for an official English translation and evaluation of their secondary records and transcripts, showing passing scores on national secondary exams and completion of the US secondary equivalent; diplomas from outside the US are evaluated for equivalency by an approved outside organization.

It does not say who must translate; Georgia Northwestern Technical College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The equivalency evaluation comes from the agency, and we do not provide it.

GNTC at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

GNTC's catalog asks applicants to "furnish an official English translation" of secondary records without restricting who translates (policy on international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Sample translation: a Mexican high school certificate

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Spanish sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CCT, CURP and the state abbreviation Jal. are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, so an evaluator does not have to look up a Mexican acronym.
  • Courtesy and degree titles (C., Mtra., Lic.) are kept as printed and explained once; names keep both surnames in place.
  • Grades stay on the 5-to-10 scale the certificate prints, with its minimum passing grade. Converting them is the evaluator's job.
  • The six semesters keep the certificate's two columns, and the seal, signatures and QR code are described in brackets where they appear.

GNTC requirements in detail

Translation

An official English translation and evaluation of secondary records and transcripts (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

What the records must show

Passing scores on national secondary school examinations and completion of the equivalent of a US secondary education (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

Evaluation

Diplomas from secondary schools outside the US are evaluated for equivalency by an approved outside evaluation organization (admission policy).

GED alternative

If the secondary transcript is unavailable, official GED scores showing a pass (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

Tuition and visas

Non-immigrant foreign students pay four times resident tuition; permanent residents pay the Georgia rate; GNTC cannot issue an I-20 (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

Translate the exam results, not only the transcript

GNTC's international policy asks for an official English translation and evaluation of secondary records that show two things: passing scores on your country's national secondary school examinations and completion of the equivalent of a US secondary education (policy on international students).

Translate the exam certificate along with the high school diploma and transcripts. If the transcript cannot be obtained, GNTC accepts official GED scores instead.

The admission policy adds that diplomas from secondary schools outside the US are evaluated for equivalency by an approved outside evaluation organization (admission policy).

One certified translation can go to GNTC and to that agency; WES, for example, accepts translations from a professional translation service.

Residents and non-immigrants

GNTC is not authorized to issue an I-20, so its international policy mostly concerns immigrants and other non-citizens already in the US.

Permanent residents pay the same tuition as Georgia citizens; non-immigrant foreign students pay four times that rate and are enrolled only when space is available (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school diploma and transcripts
  • National secondary exam certificates and results
  • College transcripts, if you studied after high school

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to GNTC

  • Send the official translation with your secondary records to GNTC Admissions, and have the outside evaluation organization send its equivalency report (Catalog 2026-27: admission policy).

  • On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For GNTC that means we translate your diploma, transcripts and exam results; the equivalency evaluation is ordered by you from an approved agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

What does GNTC need for a foreign high school diploma?

An official English translation and an evaluation showing US high school equivalency (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students; admission policy).

Who may translate my records?

GNTC does not say (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets the rule.

What if I cannot get my high school transcript?

You may take the GED test and submit official passing scores (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

Can GNTC issue an I-20?

No (Catalog 2026-27: policy on international students).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
