How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Frederick Community College publishes no translation rule of its own: prospective F-1 students complete a foreign credential evaluation with a NACES member, document-by-document for secondary school and course-by-course for any college study abroad, sent to Admissions as an official transcript.
FCC's evaluation agencies, such as WES and IEE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

FCC requirements in detail
Translation
FCC states no translation rule; foreign records reach it through a NACES evaluation (International students). The translation is what the agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency: WES and IEE accept professional translations; The Evaluation Company wants an ATA-certified translator.
Evaluation
Any NACES member, including IEE, The Evaluation Company and WES; document-by-document for secondary school, course-by-course for college coursework, sent to Admissions as an official transcript (International students).
Effect on the I-20
The length of the I-20 may depend on how many credits are eligible to transfer (International students).
Deadlines
All materials by June 15 for fall and October 15 for spring; the I-20 is issued on admission (International students).
Application
Online, with a Maryland address; I-134 declaration of financial support (International students).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
FCC accepts any NACES member and names three, with discount links for IEE and The Evaluation Company (international students).
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept applicants' own. IEE wants a certified translator, not the applicant or a notary, and sells its own translations.
The Evaluation Company accepts outside translators only if certified by ATA, or translates in-house; eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request through a free quote.
Another NACES member, ECE, accepts a complete, literal translation, including your own.
Document by document, or course by course
For secondary school, FCC asks for a document-by-document evaluation that equates your high school coursework to the US system; for college or university study abroad, a course-by-course evaluation (International students).
The second matters beyond admission: the length of your I-20 may depend on how many credits transfer, so translate every college transcript in full. For the high school record, see high school diploma translation.
Need a certified translation for FCC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma or leaving certificate
- Secondary school transcripts
- College or university transcripts, for a course-by-course report
- Degree certificates
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to FCC
The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records; the agency sends the evaluation to FCC Admissions as an official transcript (International students).
Everything for the I-20 must reach FCC by June 15 (fall) or October 15 (spring) (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For FCC that means we translate your records for the agency; the document-by-document or course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
