Florida Tech requirements in detail

Translation

All documents must be translated to English: a formal English translation issued by a school or translation service (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Who may translate

A school or a translation service; AI-generated translations are not accepted (Undergraduate international student next steps). Graduate: a certified translation service and/or a NACES agency (Graduate admission: how to apply).

When (undergraduate)

After admission: final, official transcripts and test scores are required before you enroll (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Official transcripts

Sent directly by the school, by school email to admission@fit.edu with your name and application ID, through Parchment, by mail, or hand-delivered in an envelope sealed by the school (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Transfer credit

Official transcript from the university, a syllabus for each course, and a formal English translation if needed; Florida Tech issues a Transfer Credit Evaluation report (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Evaluation

Not required for undergraduates. Graduate applicants may use a NACES agency; an evaluation may in some cases satisfy the official final transcript requirement (Graduate admission: how to apply).

Graduate transcripts

Official transcripts from each institution where 12 or more credits were earned, sent by the institution; unofficial ones allow a preliminary review, except for fully online programs (Graduate admission: how to apply).

A school or a translation service, not a machine

Florida Tech's page for admitted international students lists the final documents it needs by education system, and for the French system and "other international curriculum" it adds a formal English translation issued by a school or translation service, with the note that AI-generated translations are not accepted.

The same note appears for university transcripts submitted for transfer credit.

A certified translation from eVerbary is made by a translator in the US and carries a signed certificate of translation accuracy. For the French baccalauréat, Florida Tech also asks that the subject coefficients appear in the transcript documents; we translate them as printed, next to each subject.

Transfer credit: transcripts and syllabi

If you studied at a university abroad, Florida Tech reviews the official transcript, sent directly by the university, and a syllabus for each course outlining topics and assignments, plus a formal English translation where needed.

Credit is granted only for courses equivalent in content, level and hours, and you receive a Transfer Credit Evaluation report after admission (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Syllabi are often long, and a page of up to 250 words is priced as one page. Translating only the courses you want credit for keeps the order smaller.

Graduate applicants: translation service or evaluation agency

The graduate admission page asks applicants with university study outside the US for English translations of all application materials, including transcripts.

Applicants who cannot obtain official transcripts or who need translations may use a NACES-approved evaluation agency and/or a certified translation service.

Florida Tech has discounted rates with The Evaluation Company and Atlas Credential Evaluations for translations and course-by-course evaluations, whose documents upload automatically to the application portal.

Those partners are an option, not a requirement. A certified translation from eVerbary can be uploaded with your application; official transcripts still have to come from the institution, and are due before registration for your second semester (before review, for fully online programs).

Need a certified translation for Florida Tech?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Final secondary transcript with the graduation date
  • French baccalauréat results, with subject coefficients
  • School-leaving certificates and national exam results
  • University transcripts and course syllabi, for transfer credit

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Florida Tech

  • Undergraduates send final documents after admission. Your school sends the transcript; ask Florida Tech by email at admission@fit.edu how it wants the translation sent, quoting your application ID (Undergraduate international student next steps).

  • Graduate applicants upload translations with the application; institutions send official transcripts directly, for example encrypted to grad-admission@fit.edu (Graduate admission: how to apply).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Florida Tech that means we translate your records and syllabi; graduate applicants who want a course-by-course evaluation order it from a NACES agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Who can translate my documents for Florida Tech?

A school or a translation service (Undergraduate international student next steps). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies; AI-generated translations do not.

Do I need a credential evaluation for undergraduate admission?

No. Florida Tech asks for final official transcripts and a translation where needed; transfer credit is reviewed by Florida Tech itself (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Do I need to translate syllabi for transfer credit?

Florida Tech asks for a syllabus for each course and a formal English translation if necessary (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Must graduate applicants use The Evaluation Company or Atlas?

No. Florida Tech offers discounts with them, but its page says applicants may use a NACES agency and/or a certified translation service (Graduate admission: how to apply).

What about my French baccalauréat?

Florida Tech asks for the final transcript, a formal English translation and the subject coefficients (Undergraduate international student next steps).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
