Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from Dalton State's public pages (sources).
Dalton State College asks international applicants for an official translated and evaluated high school transcript, and official English evaluations of all foreign high school and college transcripts sent directly by a NACES member: by the document for high school, course-by-course for college.
Dalton State's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation, which takes 2 to 6 weeks, is not something we provide.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Dalton State requirements in detail
Translation
An official translated and evaluated high school transcript (Admission requirements); Dalton State does not say who translates, and the agency sets the translation rule.
Who may translate
Set by the NACES agency: WES wants a professional translator; ECE and IERF accept a literal translation.
Evaluation
Official English evaluations of all foreign high school and college transcripts, sent directly by a NACES member (Admission requirements).
Report type
High school: by the document. College: course-by-course (Admission requirements).
Time and cost
The evaluation takes 2 to 6 weeks and has a cost; you contact and communicate with the evaluator (Admission requirements).
US schools
Evaluation and translation are not needed for schools located in the US (Admission requirements).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Dalton State accepts any NACES member, so the agency's rule applies. WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations in the same format as the original, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver.
IERF wants typed, line-by-line, word-for-word translations and may require a professional one.
Order the translation before you open the evaluation file, so the agency receives a complete set of documents; Dalton State estimates 2 to 6 weeks for the evaluation itself.
Which report to order
For a high school diploma and transcripts, order an evaluation "by the document"; for college transcripts, "course-by-course".
The agency sends it directly to Dalton State, and it is your responsibility to contact the evaluator and follow up (Admission requirements).
Apply with Dalton State's International Application and track your file in the Nest Portal.

Uploading the translation to Dalton State
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the agency sends its evaluation directly to Dalton State (Admission requirements).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Dalton State that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered and followed up by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
