Concordia University, St. Paul: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
Concordia University, St. Paul (CSP) asks graduate applicants to send transcripts in another language with English translations, and does not say who must make them; its undergraduate pages do not mention translations and rely on an evaluation from a NACES member instead. Concordia University, St. Paul accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Where CSP asks for a NACES or WES evaluation, that report comes from the agency, which we are not.
English translations
Graduate transcripts in another language need one.
NACES for undergraduates
The catalog asks for it on every international transcript.
Three-year degrees
IEE or WES must confirm US degree equivalency.
CSP requirements at a glance
| What CSP asks for | |
|---|---|
| Translation | Graduate: transcripts in another language must come with English translations (International admissions: graduate). Undergraduate pages do not mention translations (International admissions: undergraduate). |
| Who may translate | Not stated on any CSP admissions page we read (graduate, undergraduate). |
| Undergraduate evaluation | The catalog says every international transcript must be evaluated by a NACES member (catalog); the admissions page asks for one only when CSP cannot verify your records, and always from students transferring from abroad (International admissions: undergraduate). |
| Graduate evaluation | May be required; required for applicants not seeking an F-1 visa, with a U.S. GPA and degree equivalency (catalog). Three-year bachelor's degrees need an IEE or WES evaluation (International admissions: graduate). |
| Where to upload | The CSP applicant portal. Graduate files can be reviewed on unofficial uploads; official transcripts follow in your first semester, sent by the issuing institution (International admissions: graduate). |
| Deadlines | Undergraduate fall: December 1 priority, July 1 final; spring: November 1 (International admissions: undergraduate). Graduate, new I-20: July 1 fall, November 1 spring, March 17 summer (International admissions: graduate). |
| Financial documents | The bank statement or letter should be in English, on bank letterhead, dated within three months (undergraduate, graduate). |
| Does it accept eVerbary? | Yes. CSP's international graduate page says transcripts in a language other than English "must be accompanied with English translations" and sets no rule on who makes them (graduate admissions), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Graduate files: a translation now, official records in the first semester
CSP lets international graduate applicants upload unofficial transcripts to the applicant portal and be admitted on them; the official transcripts must reach CSP during the first semester, and only records sent straight from the issuing institution count as official (International admissions: graduate). Transcripts in another language go with English translations, so the translated copy you upload is the one the admissions staff read for the decision. CSP also accepts a scan of the degree certificate when the official transcript confirms the degree.
The graduate page carries country rules. Chinese records come through CSSD, as English-language verification reports sent by CSSD itself. Indian three-year degrees qualify only with at least 90 subject credits or 120 overall, an NAAC "A" grade throughout and a First Class or CGPA of 6.5, and transcripts must come from the university or autonomous college, not an affiliated college (TrueCopy is accepted). For three-year bachelor's degrees from countries such as Australia, Bangladesh or Bosnia and Herzegovina, CSP wants an IEE or WES evaluation that states a U.S. GPA and degree equivalency (International admissions: graduate). F-1 study is limited to a few programs: the MS in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Information Technology Management, the MBA and the Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Undergraduates: the documents CSP expects by country
CSP's undergraduate page asks for the official transcript of your highest completed credential and lists, by country, which one: for Mexico, the Certificado de estudios and the Certificado de Bachillerato; for Brazil, the Histórico Escolar or certificate of completion; for China, the Gao San graduation certificate and the transcripts for all three upper-middle-school years; for Nigeria, the final examination result, such as WASSCE, with the WAEC scratch card (International admissions: undergraduate). Transfer students with fewer than 12 college-level credits after high school also send the high school transcript.
The page itself is silent on translations. If your records go to a NACES evaluation agency, that agency sets its own translation rule, so check it before you order; see translation for credential evaluation.
Where CSP's pages differ
The international undergraduate page says CSP "reserves the right" to ask for a NACES evaluation if it cannot verify your transcripts, and requires one from students transferring from another country. The undergraduate catalog says all international transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES member. We have not resolved that for you; ask the international admissions office which one applies to your file before you order an evaluation.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school certificates and transcripts, such as the Certificado de Bachillerato or the Gao San certificate
- University diplomas and transcripts, for graduate and transfer applicants
- Diploma supplements and statements of marks listed in CSP's country table
- Bank statements and sponsor letters, which CSP wants in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to CSP
Upload transcripts and their English translations in the CSP applicant portal; official transcripts go to CSP by mail or secure email from the issuing institution (graduate, undergraduate).
If CSP asks you for a NACES, IEE or WES evaluation, send the original-language records and our translation to the agency; the agency sends its report to CSP.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them. For CSP that means we translate your records; the NACES, IEE or WES evaluation and the official copies sent by your school come from them.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my transcripts for a CSP graduate program?
CSP asks for English translations and does not name a translator type (International admissions: graduate). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets that wording.
Do I need a NACES evaluation for undergraduate admission?
CSP's pages differ: the catalog requires one for all international transcripts, while the admissions page asks for one if records cannot be verified and from students transferring from abroad (catalog, admissions).
I have a three-year bachelor's degree. What does CSP need?
An official evaluation from IEE or WES, sent directly to CSP, showing a U.S. GPA and degree equivalency (International admissions: graduate). Indian three-year degrees have extra conditions listed on the same page.
Can I be admitted on unofficial transcripts?
Graduate applicants, yes: CSP reviews uploaded copies, and official transcripts must arrive during your first semester (International admissions: graduate).
Does my bank statement need to be in English?
Yes. CSP asks for statements in English, dated less than three months before you apply (International admissions: undergraduate). We translate bank statements at the same price per page.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
