Holy Cross asks for no credential evaluation; the school documents themselves still come through your school, which we cannot do for you.
Holy Cross at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Holy Cross's international applicant page asks for school records and recommendations "with certified English translations if necessary" and does not restrict who translates (international applicants); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Holy Cross reads the translated records itself.
Holy Cross requirements in detail
Translation
Certified English translations of all secondary school records and recommendations, if not in English (International students).
Who may translate
Not stated (International students).
Originals or copies
Originals or notarized copies of the records (International students).
Financial documents
Bank letter, statement or affidavit listing total assets in US dollars, written or translated in English, with the Certification of Finances in the Applicant Status Portal (International students).
Evaluation
None required on the pages read (International students).
Deadlines
Same as all first-year applicants: Early Decision I November 15, Early Decision II and Regular Decision January 15 (International students).
Transfers
Official transcripts and course descriptions for every college course; Holy Cross does the credit evaluation itself (transfer students).
Recommendations need a translation too
Holy Cross's rule covers more than transcripts: originals or notarized copies of all secondary school records and recommendations go in with certified English translations if necessary, and the whole application is completed in English (International students).
A teacher or counselor letter written in your language therefore needs the same certified translation as the transcript; send both the original letter and the translation.
The financial side has its own rule.
The bank letter, statement or affidavit lists total assets in US dollars and must be written or translated in English; it is uploaded with the Certification of Finances form in the Applicant Status Portal, which opens after you apply (International students). The I-20 is issued only after admission.
Deadlines and transfer applicants
International applicants follow the first-year calendar: binding Early Decision I by November 15, Early Decision II and Regular Decision by January 15; there is no Early Action.
Decisions can take longer when credentials arrive late (International students), so have translations ready before the deadline.
Transfers apply by April 1 for fall, with rolling decisions.
Holy Cross runs a credit evaluation during review and gives admitted transfers one within 24 hours of the decision, from an official transcript and course descriptions compiled into one PDF uploaded on the applicant status page (transfer students).
Its transfer page sets no separate translation rule; for records from abroad, follow the certified-translation rule above.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Holy Cross
School records and recommendations reach Holy Cross with the application, usually from your school; give your counselor the certified translations to send with them (International students). We can send the translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.
The translated bank letter goes into the Applicant Status Portal with the Certification of Finances form (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Holy Cross that means we translate your records, recommendations and bank letter; the notarized copies of school records and the official transcripts come from you or your school.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of translation does Holy Cross accept?
A certified English translation; Holy Cross does not say who must make it (International students).
Do my recommendation letters need a translation?
Yes, if they are not in English: the rule covers all secondary school records and recommendations (International students).
Can I send notarized copies instead of originals?
Yes. Holy Cross accepts originals or notarized copies of the records (International students). eVerbary can add notarization to the translation for $34.90 per order.
Does Holy Cross require a WES evaluation?
Not on its international applicant page, which asks for the records with certified translations (International students).
When are the deadlines for international applicants?
The same as for all first-year applicants: November 15 for Early Decision I, January 15 for Early Decision II and Regular Decision (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
