Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from Chattanooga State's public pages (sources).
Chattanooga State Community College requires any high school or college transcript from outside the US to come with an official evaluation from a NACES member: a credential and GPA evaluation for high school, course-by-course for college.
Chattanooga State's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the evaluation comes from the agency, not from us.

Sample translation: a Mexican high school certificate
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Spanish sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CCT, CURP and the state abbreviation Jal. are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, so an evaluator does not have to look up a Mexican acronym.
- Courtesy and degree titles (C., Mtra., Lic.) are kept as printed and explained once; names keep both surnames in place.
- Grades stay on the 5-to-10 scale the certificate prints, with its minimum passing grade. Converting them is the evaluator's job.
- The six semesters keep the certificate's two columns, and the seal, signatures and QR code are described in brackets where they appear.

Chattanooga State requirements in detail
Translation
Chattanooga State states no translation rule of its own; foreign transcripts come with a NACES evaluation (International students). The agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the NACES agency: WES wants a professional translator; ECE and IERF accept a literal translation.
Evaluation
Any high school or college transcript from outside the US must be accompanied by an official evaluation from a NACES member (International students).
Report type
High school: credential and GPA evaluation. College: course-by-course (International students).
Who is international
Students holding or seeking an F-1 or M-1 visa, or another non-immigrant visa that permits study (International students).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Chattanooga State accepts any NACES member, so the agency's rule applies. WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations in the same format as the original, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver. IERF wants typed, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one.
High school and college reports
For a high school diploma and transcripts from abroad, ask the agency for a credential evaluation with GPA; for college transcripts, a course-by-course evaluation (International students).
Translate every year of grades and the grading scale so the agency can compute the GPA, and send questions to the international admissions email listed on the page.

Uploading the translation to Chattanooga State
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the official evaluation accompanies your transcripts to Chattanooga State Admissions (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Chattanooga State that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
