How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Atlanta Technical College says foreign transcripts must be translated into English, evaluated and found equivalent to a US high school diploma, with a document evaluation of the secondary transcript and a course-by-course evaluation of every college attended; it does not say who must translate.

Atlanta Technical College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation comes from one of the agencies it lists, such as WES or Josef Silny, and is something we do not provide.

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Atlanta Tech's international page says foreign transcripts must be translated into English and does not restrict who translates (international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Atlanta Tech requirements in detail

Translation

Foreign transcripts must be translated into English, evaluated and determined equivalent to a US high school diploma (International students).

Who may translate

Evaluation

A document evaluation of the secondary school transcript and a course-by-course evaluation of all colleges and universities attended (International students).

Agencies

International page: Josef Silny, ECE, FIS, Foreign Credential Evaluators, SpanTran or WES (International students); see below for the shorter lists on other pages.

Who counts as international

F-1 students, applicants abroad who need an F-1 or M-1 visa, and applicants whose permanent residency is still pending (International students).

F-1 / M-1 extras

TOEFL 61 (internet) or IELTS 5.5, bank statements from the last 6 months showing $27,000 per year, a sponsor letter and the $350 SEVIS fee; $25 application fee (International students).

Where Atlanta Tech's pages differ

The international page requires one of six agencies: Josef Silny & Associates, Educational Credential Evaluators, FIS Foundation for International Services, Foreign Credential Evaluators, SpanTran or World Education Services (international students).

The new-student page says foreign transcripts go directly to an ATC-approved organization "for evaluation and translation to U.S. equivalency" and names only WES and Josef Silny (new students); the transfer page names WES, ECE and Josef Silny (transfer students).

WES and Josef Silny appear on all three, so they are the safest choice until the college confirms its current list.

What the agencies ask for the translation

WES accepts a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, not by the applicant.

Josef Silny & Associates asks for translations made in the US by ATA-certified translators, or abroad by officially certified translators; eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request through a free quote.

ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations, including your own, and SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, accepts outside translations only from ATA-certified translators.

For the secondary record, translate the full high school diploma and every transcript page with its grading scale before you open the agency file; college records need every course listed, since the report is course by course.

Need a certified translation for Atlanta Tech?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Secondary school diploma and transcripts
  • College or university transcripts, for the course-by-course report
  • Bank statements and the sponsor letter, if not in English
  • Grading scale or legend printed with the transcripts

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Atlanta Tech

  • The translations go to the evaluation agency with your records; Atlanta Tech asks for foreign transcripts to reach an approved organization directly (New student admission).

  • After applying online and paying the $25 fee, F-1 and M-1 applicants email a copy of the passport and visa to internationalstudents@atlantatech.edu for further guidance (International students). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Atlanta Tech that means we translate your records; the document or course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from one of the listed agencies.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Atlanta Tech require a translation of my foreign transcript?

Yes. Foreign transcripts must be translated into English and evaluated (International students). It does not say who translates; a certified translation from eVerbary qualifies.

Which evaluation agency should I use?

The pages differ; WES and Josef Silny are listed on every one (New student admission). The international page adds ECE, FIS, Foreign Credential Evaluators and SpanTran (International students).

Do I need a course-by-course evaluation?

Yes, for every college or university you attended; the secondary transcript needs a document evaluation (International students).

I am waiting for my green card. Am I an international applicant?

Yes. Atlanta Tech classifies applicants whose permanent residency is still in process as international (International students).

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for Josef Silny or SpanTran?

Yes, on request. Ask for a free quote and say the translation is for that agency. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
