How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
The Arkansas State Medical Board requires every foreign-language document, whether it comes from you or from a verification source, to be accompanied by an English translation by an official translator, and the translation must reach the Board directly from the translator.
The Arkansas State Medical Board accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary, and we can email the translation to the Board ourselves.
Primary-source verifications of your education and training still come from the schools and programs, or from FCVS, not from us.
Arkansas State Medical Board at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
The Board's MD/DO application pack asks for a translation into English "by an official translator", returned directly from the translator (application pack), and does not restrict who that is, so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. Arkansas State Medical Board requirements in detail
Translation
Required for all foreign-language documents submitted by applicants and verification sources (application pack).
Who may translate
An official translator; the pack does not define the term further (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
How it arrives
Directly from the translator to the Board; documents received without an official translation are returned to the applicant (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
Email and fax
Verifications can be faxed to (501) 296-1972 or emailed as a PDF to LicenseMonitor@arkansas.gov with "Attn: Licensing" in the subject, unless mail is requested (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
International graduates
Act 498 of 2005: three years of US postgraduate training; or three years abroad plus USMLE, ECFMG certification, a US fellowship and ABMS certification; or one US year and current enrollment in an Arkansas program (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
FCVS
Accepted with the Board designated as recipient; self-designated profiles are not accepted. FCVS users do not send ID or name-change copies to the Board (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
Application
Paper application with your original signature; it may not be filed electronically (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
The translator sends it, not you
Arkansas is one of the boards that wants the translation to come from the translator.
Its application pack says that a document received without an official translation is returned to the applicant for forwarding to an official translator, and that the translated document must then be returned to the Board directly from the translator (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
The rule covers documents from verification sources too, so a foreign school's verification letter in Spanish or Portuguese also needs one.
eVerbary can email the certified translation directly to the Board if you write in the order notes that it is for the Arkansas State Medical Board, and which document and applicant it belongs to. The Board accepts verifications as PDF email attachments (see below).
FCVS changes what you send
If you use FCVS, the Board tells you not to send copies of your driver's license, passport or name-change documents, and not to request exam scores, school verification or training verification yourself: FCVS provides them (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026).
FCVS does not verify observerships, externships or foreign postgraduate training, so records of those come directly from the source, and if they are not in English, the translation follows the official-translator rule.
ECFMG, whose certification is part of one of the Act 498 paths, accepts a word-for-word translation by a professional translation service for documents uploaded to it (ECFMG).
Need a certified translation for Arkansas State Medical Board?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to Arkansas State Medical Board
The translation goes from the translator to the Board.
Verifications may be emailed as a PDF to LicenseMonitor@arkansas.gov with "Attn: Licensing" in the subject line (MD/DO application pack, rev. 4/15/2026); eVerbary can email the certified translation directly to the Board if you write in the order notes that it is for the Arkansas State Medical Board.
eVerbary can also mail the translation to the Board in a sealed, signed envelope: choose the hard copy at checkout with the Board's address ($19.95 Priority or $37.95 Express in the US) and write in the order notes that it is for the Arkansas State Medical Board.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service or a licensing agency: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we cannot send documents on behalf of the school or authority that issued them, and we do not file the license application.
For Arkansas that means we translate and can send the translation to the Board; the verifications themselves come from your schools and programs, or from FCVS.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
