The bank certificate, and what a consulate reads
Philippine banks issue a bank certificate on letterhead stating the account holder, the account type and number, the opening date and the balance or average daily balance, signed by an officer and sealed.
Consular applications ask for it alongside statements, and the average daily balance is what is read, because it cannot be produced by a deposit made a week before the interview. We translate the field by name.
Peso and dollar accounts, and the remittance lines
Filipino households commonly hold both peso and US dollar accounts, and statements frequently show regular inbound OFW remittances from a family member working abroad.
