Two court systems, depending on religion
Indonesian divorces run through two different court systems. Muslim couples go to the Pengadilan Agama, the religious court; everyone else goes to the Pengadilan Negeri, the district court. The court issues the decision and a divorce certificate (akta cerai) follows.

One legal name
Many Indonesians have a single legal name with no family name, and US forms frequently record FNU or LNU in response — a convention for a missing field rather than a statement about the person. We reproduce the name exactly as given and say plainly that a single name is the complete legal name.
