The carta de saldo, and the estado de cuenta
Dominican banks issue a carta de saldo or certificación bancaria on letterhead stating the holder, the account and the balance at a date, signed and sealed, and consulates commonly require it alongside monthly estados de cuenta.
They are different documents. We name which one you have sent and translate the letterhead, the signature block and the seal with the figures.
Pesos and dollars, and remittances
Dominican accounts are commonly held in Dominican pesos and in US dollars, and a household's statements frequently show regular inbound remittances from the United States, which are a very large part of the economy.

The cédula, and the account holder
Statements carry the holder's cédula de identidad y electoral, issued by the Junta Central Electoral, which is the identifier matching the account to every other Dominican document.
