The notarised lease, and eviction
Croatian landlords commonly require a notarised lease or a separate notarial clause, because a notarised lease with the required wording allows eviction at the end of the term without a full court action.
So the notarisation is not a formality, it is the landlord's remedy. We name the notary and translate the enforcement clause as written.
Registering the lease, and the tax
Rental income is taxed and the lease is reported to the tax administration, and short-term tourist letting is regulated separately with its own registration and categorisation.

Croatia replaced the kuna with the euro on 1 January 2023, so a lease from 2022 states kuna and one from 2023 euro at a fixed conversion rate.
