CELU, and why it is not DELE
Argentina certifies Spanish through CELU — Certificado de Español: Lengua y Uso — run by a consortium of Argentine and Uruguayan universities and recognised by the Argentine state.
It is the Spanish certificate issued by Latin American institutions rather than by Spain's Instituto Cervantes, and it attests River Plate Spanish. A US reader assuming every Spanish certificate is a DELE will misidentify it.
There is no beginner level
CELU awards three levels — Intermedio, Intermedio Alto and Avanzado — and a candidate who does not reach Intermedio receives no certificate at all.
So every CELU certificate in existence is at least Intermedio, and a US reader treating the lowest level as a weak result has it backwards. We state the scale.
A single integrated examination
CELU is a single integrated test of comprehension and production rather than four separately scored skills, so there is no skill profile to report and its absence is not an omission.
The certificate states the level and the session. We reproduce both and name the consortium.
Indigenous languages, and the interpreters
Argentina also recognises indigenous languages including Quechua, Guaraní, Mapudungun and Wichí, with intercultural bilingual education provision and interpreter training programmes.

Is CELU the same as DELE?
No. CELU is issued by a consortium of Argentine and Uruguayan universities and attests River Plate Spanish. DELE comes from Spain.
Is Intermedio a weak result?
It is the entry level, and candidates below it receive no certificate at all. Every CELU is at least Intermedio.
Where are the skill scores?
There are none. CELU is a single integrated examination and awards one level.
