Spanish certification from UNAM
Mexico certifies Spanish for foreign speakers principally through UNAM, whose examinations and certificates attest Mexican Spanish, and UNAM participates in the SIELE consortium alongside Spanish and Argentine institutions.
So a Mexican Spanish certificate may be a UNAM credential or a SIELE result, and they are different documents. We name the issuer and the examination.
INALI, and the indigenous interpreter register
Mexico's INALI — the national institute of indigenous languages — maintains a national register of certified interpreters and translators of the sixty-eight recognised indigenous language groupings, trained and certified for use in courts and public services.
That certification is a real credential with a register entry, and a US reader will not recognise it. We name the institute, the language and the register reference.

Mexico recognises sixty-eight indigenous language groupings with hundreds of variants, and they are languages with the same legal status as Spanish under the linguistic rights law — not dialects.
A certificate naming Náhuatl, Mixteco, Zapoteco, Maya or Tzeltal attests a language, and we name it and the variant where the certificate states one.
