International Academic Credential Evaluators (IACEI) asks for the official-language version of your records together with an English translation by a certified translator, and its FAQ says the translator must be certified by the American Translators Association (ATA).

IACEI does not translate; it points applicants to a separate company, Credential Consultants. eVerbary assigns a translator individually certified by ATA on request; the evaluation comes from IACEI.

IACEI at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

IACEI requires translations by a certified English translator and says the translator must be certified by ATA (IACEI FAQ), so a translation by an ATA-certified translator, whom eVerbary assigns on request, meets it. Policy checked on October 21, 2026.

Worth knowing about IACEI

ATA-certified only

IACEI's FAQ names ATA certification for the translator.

Course descriptions too

ATA-certified translation prepared in the US.

Separate companies

IACEI evaluates; translation is a different service.

IACEI requirements in detail

Translation

Required for records not in English: the official-language version plus a translation by a certified English translator (IACEI: client FAQs (iacei.net)).

Who may translate

A translator certified by the American Translators Association (IACEI: client FAQs (iacei.net)).

Self-translation

Not accepted under the ATA rule.

Course descriptions

For full course descriptions ($425) or catalog matching ($445), an official catalog or syllabus in the native language with an ATA-certified translation prepared in the United States (IACEI: services and fees for new clients).

Own translation service

None. IACEI refers applicants to Credential Consultants, a separate company, at $65 to $75 per page; a copy goes to IACEI automatically (IACEI: translation services).

How to submit

Send the translation with the official-language records as IACEI's document requirements say (IACEI: client FAQs (iacei.net)).

Notarization

Not mentioned by IACEI.

ATA certification, and why the US matters

IACEI asks for translations by a certified English translator and specifies certification by the American Translators Association (IACEI: client FAQs (iacei.net)).

For course descriptions and syllabi it adds that the ATA-certified translation must be prepared in the United States (IACEI: services and fees for new clients). eVerbary's translators work in the US, and for IACEI we assign one individually certified by ATA.

ATA certifies only some language pairs into English. If your documents are in a language ATA does not certify, ask IACEI what it accepts before you order.

Evaluation and translation are separate

IACEI says evaluations and translations are separate services offered by separate companies, and links to Credential Consultants for translations at $65 to $75 per standard page, with a copy sent to IACEI for free (IACEI: translation services).

Any translator certified by ATA meets the rule; you do not have to use the company IACEI links to.

Add-on services such as a licensing board information section ($65) or full course descriptions ($425) appear on IACEI's fee page (IACEI: services and fees for new clients). If you need course descriptions translated, count those pages in your quote too.

Need a certified translation for IACEI?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Transcripts and mark sheets
  • Degree certificates and diplomas
  • Course descriptions, syllabi or catalog pages
  • Secondary school certificates

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
  • Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.

Submitting the translation to IACEI

  • Send the ATA-certified translation with the official-language version of your records, as IACEI's client FAQ describes (IACEI: client FAQs (iacei.net)).

  • We deliver the translation as a PDF with the translator's signed certification, ready to send with your records.

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for IACEI, what it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we do not order the evaluation for you, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For IACEI that means we provide the ATA-certified translation; the official records, the evaluation and any catalog matching are handled with IACEI.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
