How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
York Technical College publishes no translation rule: credentials earned outside the US must be evaluated by a member of NACES, and its transfer page sends applicants with an international transcript to an approved translation and academic agency such as World Education Services.
York Tech's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation, which we do not provide, then reaches York Tech.

York Tech requirements in detail
Translation
York Tech states no translation rule; international transcripts reach it through an evaluation (Steps to enroll).
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator; ECE accepts any complete, word-for-word translation.
Evaluation
Credentials earned outside the US must be evaluated by a NACES member; for international transcripts an official evaluation through a NACES agency is required (Submit a transcript).
Agency named
World Education Services, as an example of an approved translation and academic agency (transferring to York Tech).
Delivery
Electronic transcripts through a secure service to arecords@yorktech.edu; mailed ones in a sealed, unopened envelope from the issuer (Submit a transcript).
What WES and ECE ask for the translation
York Tech points to WES by name (Transferring to York Tech).
WES accepts an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, not one made by the applicant, and does not translate documents itself.
If you choose another NACES member, check its rule: ECE accepts any complete, word-for-word translation, including your own, and sells an $85 translation waiver.
High school records and foreign college credit
The registrar's transcript page repeats the NACES rule for international transcripts: an official evaluation must be completed through a NACES member agency (Submit a transcript).
Translate the full high school diploma and every transcript page before opening the agency file.
For transfer credit, York Tech asks every applicant for an official transcript and analyzes accepted credit by level, content, quality and relevance to the program (Transferring to York Tech).

- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to York Tech
The translation goes to WES or another NACES agency with your records; the agency sends its evaluation to York Tech's Registrar (arecords@yorktech.edu) (Submit a transcript).
On request we can email the translation directly to the agency or the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For York Tech that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you, for example from WES.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
