Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, asks international first-year applicants for an official and complete secondary school transcript or mark sheets with the School Report, and an English translation of every transcript not in English; it does not say who must translate.

Wheaton College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Its admission staff read transcripts and grading scales from many countries themselves, and its checklist lists no credential evaluation.

Wheaton at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Wheaton says "an English translation of all transcripts that are not in English is also required" (international applicants) and does not restrict who translates; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
  • Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
  • Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
  • Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Wheaton requirements in detail

Translation

An English translation of all transcripts not in English (International applicants).

Who may translate

What goes with the School Report

An official, complete transcript or mark sheets with courses and grades, and official results of national or international exams such as IGCSE, A Levels, IB, CBSE or the Abitur (International applicants).

Mid-year

An official Mid-Year Report and transcript from your counselor as soon as first-term grades exist (International applicants).

Evaluation

None listed; the admission staff interpret transcripts and grading scales of many countries (FAQ).

English

TOEFL (code 3963), IELTS (code 5109) or Duolingo; recommended TOEFL 85, IELTS 6.5, PTE 61, DET 125 with interview (International FAQ).

Finances

The International Student Certification of Finances is required from every applicant who is not a US citizen or permanent resident (International applicants).

Transcripts, exam results and translations

Wheaton's international checklist puts the transcript inside the Common Application School Report: your counselor submits an official and complete copy of your secondary school transcript or mark sheets with courses and grades, and an English translation of every transcript not in English is also required (international applicants).

Official results of government or national exams, from GCSE and A Levels to the IB, ICSE/ISC, CBSE, the Abitur or the French Baccalaureate, are included too, and if they are not in English they need the same translation.

Because the Mid-Year Report and transcript come later from your counselor, plan a second translation when first-term grades are issued (International applicants).

First-year or transfer, and English proficiency

You apply as a transfer if you have matriculated as a degree candidate anywhere or taken more than 12 credits as a non-degree student (international FAQ).

English proficiency can come from TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or Duolingo, or from four years at a high school taught in English; transfers can use two years at an English-language college.

Waiver requests are reviewed only after you have submitted your application and credentials.

Wheaton gives merit scholarships of $25,000 to $33,000 a year to citizens of any country with no extra application, and the Wheaton Refugee Scholarship requires a Regular Decision application by January 1 (International FAQ).

  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to Wheaton

  • Your counselor submits the transcript with the School Report; send the English translation with it, or through your Wheaton Applicant Portal if the office asks (International applicants).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
