UIW requirements in detail

Translation

An official translation for any transcript not issued in English, submitted together with the official transcript (Transcript requirements).

Who may translate

An official translating service; the translation may be done in the home country but must be stamped, signed and sealed (Transcript requirements).

Evaluation

Transfer students with foreign university credits: a detailed course or course-by-course evaluation, from NACES members only (Transcript requirements).

Recommended agencies

Educational Credential Evaluators and World Education Services (Transcript requirements).

Timing

For transfers, no admission decision until the evaluation is received (International admissions).

Freshman package

International application, official high school transcript in English, English proficiency, passport copy and proof of financial support (International admissions).

What UIW means by an official translation

UIW's rule is about who signs the translation, not where it is made: the official translation can come from your home country, as long as an official translating service has stamped, signed and sealed it, and it travels with the official transcript (Transcript requirements).

Freshmen apply with the official high school transcript in English, so a transcript in another language goes in with its translation; graduate applicants add proof of graduation (International admissions).

The transfer evaluation lists every course

Transfer students with credits from a university abroad must submit a detailed course or course-by-course evaluation before UIW reviews the application, and it must include every course taken, even grades below C and repeated courses (Transcript requirements).

UIW accepts only NACES members and recommends ECE and WES. WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator; ECE accepts a complete, literal translation or sells an $85 waiver.

Need a certified translation for UIW?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcript and diploma
  • University transcripts, every year
  • Degree certificate or proof of graduation, for graduate applicants
  • Bank letter for proof of financial support, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to UIW

  • Add the official transcript and its official translation to your UIW international application package (International admissions).

  • We can send the translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For UIW that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation for transfer credit is ordered by you from a NACES member such as ECE or WES.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
