How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Triton College requires every foreign high school and college transcript to be evaluated by a NACES member, for F-1 applicants and for anyone admitted with an international high school transcript; it publishes no translation rule of its own.
Triton's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE, Educational Perspectives and FCSA, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the agency then writes the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Triton requirements in detail
Translation
Triton states no translation rule; the translation is what the NACES agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the agency you choose; WES, EP and FCSA accept a professional service, ECE also your own translation (see below).
Evaluation
All foreign high school and college transcripts, by a NACES member (International students, catalog).
Residents with foreign high school
International high school transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES member to confirm US high school equivalency (Catalog 2026-2027: application procedures).
Who to contact
The Records Evaluator for admission procedures (Catalog 2026-2027: international student admission); international advisors are assigned by last name, A-L and M-Z (International students).
Funds and I-20
At least $22,500 per academic year; the I-20 is emailed about 10 business days after all materials are received and approved (International students).
Deadlines (F-1)
New students: June 1 (fall), November 1 (spring), March 1 (summer); F-1 transfers: July 1, December 1, April 1 (International students).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Triton accepts any NACES member, so the translation rule is the agency's. WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations made by applicants.
ECE wants a complete, word-for-word translation in the same format as the original and lets applicants make it themselves; for $85 it sells a waiver under which it translates internally for its report only, with no translation delivered to you.
Educational Perspectives, in Chicago, accepts translations by a reputable translation agency or a certified, professional translator and sells its own. FCSA requires a certified English translation and accepts those of most professional agencies in the US or abroad.
One rule for F-1 and resident applicants
Triton applies the NACES rule beyond the visa file.
International applicants submit official credentials and transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary schools, and all foreign transcripts go through a NACES member (catalog).
Triton's high school transcript procedure says the same of every applicant with an international high school transcript: the evaluation confirms that US high school equivalency standards are met (application procedures).
US transcripts go to transcripts@triton.edu through Parchment or another secure vendor.
Need a certified translation for Triton?

Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma and transcripts, for the NACES evaluation
- University transcripts and degree certificates
- Bank statement on official letterhead, if not in English
- Sponsor's employer statement, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Triton
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records (WES, for example, takes uploads in your WES account: WES: translation requirements); the agency's evaluation then goes to Triton, and the Records Evaluator, whom every applicant must contact, gives the specific admission steps (Catalog 2026-2027: international student admission).
Apply through Triton's International Student Application; all materials must arrive by the deadline (new F-1 students: June 1 for fall, November 1 for spring, March 1 for summer), or an application from outside the US is deferred to the next semester (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Triton that means we translate your records for the agency; the evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Triton College require a certified translation?
Triton itself publishes no translation rule. It requires a NACES evaluation of all foreign transcripts (International students), and the agency asks for the translation: WES, for example, wants one from a professional translator (WES).
Which evaluation agency should I use for Triton?
Any NACES member (Catalog 2026-2027: international student admission). Their translation rules differ; see the comparison above.
I live in Illinois and finished high school abroad. Do I need an evaluation?
Yes. Triton asks for a NACES evaluation of international high school transcripts to confirm US equivalency (Catalog 2026-2027: application procedures).
Can I translate my documents myself for the evaluation?
For ECE, yes, if the translation is complete and word for word (ECE); WES does not accept translations by applicants (WES).
How fast will Triton issue my I-20?
About 10 business days after all application materials are received and approved, by email (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
