Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from Texas Tech Health El Paso's public pages (sources).

Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) publishes no translation rule of its own: applicants who completed undergraduate or graduate coursework outside the US must obtain a credential evaluation with US degree equivalencies and a course-by-course analysis, from agencies such as IEE, TEC, ECE or SDR, or any NACES or endorsed AICE member.

Texas Tech Health El Paso's evaluation agencies, such as ECE and IEE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation itself is not something we provide.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
  • The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
  • Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
  • The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Texas Tech Health El Paso requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a record not in English.

Who may translate

Set by the agency: ECE, IEE and SDR accept certified or professional translators; TEC only ATA-certified ones.

Evaluation

Required for undergraduate or graduate coursework outside the US, with US degree equivalencies and a course-by-course analysis (Registrar policies and procedures).

Agencies

IEE (with a Texas Tech Health El Paso application), SpanTran: The Evaluation Company, ECE and SDR; NACES members and endorsed AICE members generally accepted (Registrar policies and procedures).

Where it goes

Through your application service, or directly to the Texas Tech Health El Paso Registrar, 130 Rick Francis St., MSC 21014, El Paso, TX 79905 (Registrar policies and procedures).

Schools

Foster School of Medicine, Hunt School of Nursing, Hunt School of Dental Medicine, Francis Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (Registrar policies and procedures).

One Registrar rule for medicine, nursing, dentistry and biomedical sciences

Texas Tech Health El Paso puts its rule on the Registrar's policies page, so it applies across its schools: anyone who completed undergraduate or graduate coursework at a college or university outside the US must obtain a credential evaluation that includes US degree equivalencies and a course-by-course analysis (Registrar policies).

The evaluation can reach the university through a third-party application service or be sent to the Registrar directly.

The page names four agencies, IEE (which has a Texas Tech Health El Paso evaluation application), SpanTran: The Evaluation Company, ECE and SDR Educational Consultants, and says the list is not exhaustive: evaluations from NACES members or endorsed AICE members are generally accepted.

For applicants with a Mexican título or other university records in Spanish, the evaluation is built on an English translation.

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

ECE accepts complete, literal, word-for-word translations, including your own, or sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for the report.

IEE accepts translations by certified translators (or a university or embassy in your country), not by the applicant or a notary. SDR accepts its own translators or another certified translator.

TEC (SpanTran) accepts outside translations only from translators certified by ATA; eVerbary can assign one on request through a free quote that mentions TEC and Texas Tech Health El Paso.

If you use another NACES member, such as WES, check its rule; WES wants a professional translator.

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to Texas Tech Health El Paso

  • Send the translation with your documents to the agency; the agency sends the evaluation to your application service or to the Registrar at 130 Rick Francis St., MSC 21014, El Paso, TX 79905 (Registrar policies and procedures).

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Texas Tech Health El Paso, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Texas Tech Health El Paso that means we translate your university records for the agency; the course-by-course evaluation with degree equivalency is ordered by you.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions
