Schoolcraft College asks F-1 applicants for proof of high school graduation translated into English, and it does not say who must translate.

Schoolcraft College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

Foreign college transcripts are optional for admission; credit for them needs a course-by-course evaluation from one of the NACES members Schoolcraft lists, which we do not provide.

Schoolcraft at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Schoolcraft's 2026 F-1 packet says proof of high school graduation "must be translated into English" and does not restrict who translates (F-1 admission packet); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

Schoolcraft requirements in detail

Translation

Proof of high school graduation must be translated into English (F-1 International Student Admission Packet 2026 (PDF)).

College abroad

Send a copy of your transcripts; previous international transcripts are optional for admission (F-1 International Student Admission Packet 2026 (PDF)).

Credit evaluation

Course-by-course, from one of the NACES members listed on Schoolcraft's Incoming Transcripts page, such as ECE, WES, IERF, Educational Perspectives or IEE; The Evaluation Company with discounts (Incoming transcripts (Student Records)).

Dependents and funds

Family records translated into English are accepted as proof of relationship; bank statements must show date, bank, holder, account type and currency in English (F-1 International Student Admission Packet 2026 (PDF)).

Timing

Apply at least three months before the semester; the I-20 takes about 2 to 7 business days once everything is in (F-1 International Student Admission Packet 2026 (PDF)).

Residents with a foreign diploma

Applicants with an international high school record take the ESL placement test as their required first step (Required documents: your next steps).

What Schoolcraft needs translated for the I-20

Schoolcraft keeps the F-1 file short. The Academic Information Form in the packet asks whether you completed high school; if you did, you submit proof of graduation, and it must be translated into English (F-1 admission packet).

The diploma or completion certificate is the document to translate; if you also send a transcript, translate it with the grading legend.

Documents go to the International Student Center by email, ideally all at once; the office tells you if anything is missing (admissions process).

Two other parts of the packet involve English. Dependents prove the relationship with a birth or marriage certificate, and family records translated into English are accepted.

Bank statements or letters must show the date (within four months), the bank's name, the account holder, the account type and the currency in English; Schoolcraft converts other currencies itself (F-1 International Student Admission Packet 2026 (PDF)).

College credit, the NACES list and residents

If you studied at a college abroad, the packet asks for a copy of your transcripts and says that credit requires a credit evaluation (F-1 International Student Admission Packet 2026 (PDF)).

Schoolcraft's Records Office accepts only a course-by-course evaluation from the NACES members on its Incoming Transcripts page, which include ECE, WES, IERF, Educational Perspectives, IEE and The Evaluation Company, with discounts for the last (incoming transcripts).

Each agency sets its own translation rule: WES accepts a translation by a professional translator, while The Evaluation Company asks for a translator certified by ATA, which eVerbary can assign on request. See translation for credential evaluation.

Residents and immigrants with an international high school transcript or diploma who are starting college start with the ESL placement test, then orientation and an advisor; those with an international college degree follow their own path on the same page (your next steps).

Documents applicants usually translate

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Schoolcraft

  • Email the completed F-1 Admission Packet, the translated proof of high school graduation and the other documents to the International Student Center; the I-20, admission letter and Welcome Packet are emailed back (International students: admissions processes).

  • For credit, send the translation with your records to the evaluation agency; it sends the course-by-course report to Schoolcraft (Incoming transcripts (Student Records)).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Schoolcraft that means we translate your diploma, transcripts and family records; the course-by-course evaluation for credit comes from one of the listed NACES agencies.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
