Queens College requirements in detail
Translation
No graduate translation rule of its own; the evaluation agency sets it.
Evaluation (graduate)
Required for applicants educated outside the US, from ACEI, ECE (course by course), Foreign Credential Evaluations, FCSA, IEE, IERF, IFCS, Josef Silny & Associates, Scholaro, The Evaluation Company (course analysis), Transcript Research or WES (ICAP) (Graduate admissions: matriculation).
Non-matriculated
Same agency list for proof of a degree earned outside the US (Graduate admissions: non-matriculation).
Where it goes
The agency submits the evaluation to GradAppDocs@qc.cuny.edu when you apply (Graduate admissions: matriculation).
Official records
Sent directly by each institution abroad, requested with QC's Transcript/Marksheet Request Form, in the original language with an English translation if possible (request form).
Undergraduate
CUNY's central application and Document Translation Guidelines; SpanTran offers a discounted $170 evaluation for CUNY Queens students (Apply to Queens College).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES, which Queens College wants as the ICAP package, requires an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service and does not accept translations by applicants (WES).
ECE accepts a complete, literal translation in the original format from anyone, including you, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally (ECE).
IERF asks for typed, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one (IERF).
The Evaluation Company, listed for its course analysis, accepts an outside translation only from a translator certified by ATA (TEC); if you choose it, eVerbary can assign one through a free quote. Ask your agency first, then order the translation that meets its rule.
Getting official marksheets from abroad
Queens College treats foreign records as official only when the institution sends them directly to Graduate Admissions, and it gives you a Transcript/Marksheet Request Form to mail by registered air mail (Transcript/Marksheet Request Form (PDF)).
For Bangladesh, India and Pakistan the request goes to the university itself rather than the registrar.
If nothing arrives, send a second request a month later; after that you may submit photostatic copies of your marksheets with the air mail receipts.
The form asks the school to include an English translation if possible, so if it cannot, your own certified translation fills that gap for the evaluator.
Undergraduate applicants apply through CUNY, which keeps its own translation guidelines; see the CUNY page. Queens College adds a SpanTran custom application at $170 (Apply to Queens College).
Need a certified translation for Queens College?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University marksheets or transcripts, semester by semester
- Degree certificates or provisional certificates
- Secondary school records, for undergraduate admission
- Grading scale of each institution
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Queens College
For graduate admission the translation is not sent to Queens College: it goes to the evaluation agency with your records, and the agency sends its report to GradAppDocs@qc.cuny.edu (Graduate admissions: matriculation).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Queens College that means we translate your marksheets and degree for the agency; the evaluation from one of the 12 listed agencies is ordered by you after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
