How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Queensborough accepts only official documents stamped and dated by the issuing school or exam board, and any document not in English must be translated and submitted with the original, following CUNY's translation guide, which accepts a translation agency.
Queensborough Community College (CUNY) accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Transfer applicants also submit a course-by-course evaluation from one of 13 listed agencies, and some freshmen are asked for one; that evaluation is something we do not provide.
QCC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
QCC asks applicants to prepare all translations with CUNY's document translation guide (international admissions), and that guide lists a translation agency among accepted translators (CUNY translation guidelines). Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

QCC requirements in detail
Translation
Every document not in English is translated first and submitted with the official original, prepared with CUNY's translation guide (International students).
Who may translate
CUNY's guide: a translation agency, consulate, immigrant association, your school or a US faculty member, not you or your family (CUNY Document Translation Guidelines (PDF)).
Official documents
Only official documents, stamped and dated by the issuing school or examination board (International students).
Freshmen
QCC reviews documents itself; case by case it asks for a course-by-course evaluation, otherwise documents go to CUNY's processing center, which can take 3-5 months (International students).
Transfers
A course-by-course evaluation of university transcripts from a listed agency, such as ECE, Educational Perspectives, IERF, IEE, The Evaluation Company, Transcript Research or WES, 7-14 business days (International students).
Where evaluations go
Sent by the agency to internationaladmissions@qcc.cuny.edu (International students).
Who it applies to
Anyone who attended high school or college outside the US (apply).
QCC reads your translated records first
Queensborough's International Admissions team does an initial review of your documents against CUNY's guidelines, which takes 10-15 business days (International students).
For that review every document must be official, stamped and dated by the issuing school or exam board, and any document not in English must be translated first and submitted together with the official original, prepared with CUNY's document translation guide.
If QCC cannot evaluate a freshman's documents, it asks, case by case, for a course-by-course evaluation from one of its listed agencies, which speeds up the decision.
Without one, documents go to CUNY's University Application Processing Center, where a full review can take 3-5 months (International students). CUNY's own rules are on the CUNY page.
Transfers: a course-by-course evaluation from the list
Transfer applicants must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their university transcripts, from Academic Evaluation Services, ECE, Educational Perspectives, Educational Records Evaluation Service, Foreign Academic Credential Service, Global Credential Evaluators, IACEI, International Consultants of Delaware, IERF, IEE, The Evaluation Company, Transcript Research or WES; processing takes 7-14 business days, and the agency sends the official evaluation to QCC (International students).
Documents that do not appear to meet CUNY's guidelines are forwarded to the central office, which wants both the original and the translation sent to it directly.
The agency sets its own translation rule.
WES, for example, accepts a translation by a professional translation service but not one by the applicant (WES), while some listed agencies, such as Global Credential Evaluators and IACEI, want an ATA-certified translator, which eVerbary can assign through a free quote.
Need a certified translation for QCC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Official high school transcript and diploma
- National or government exam certificates
- University transcripts, for the course-by-course evaluation
- Degree certificates
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to QCC
Send the official documents with their translations to QCC by mail or to internationaladmissions@qcc.cuny.edu, as the international admissions page explains (International students). We can email the translation directly to the admissions office on request.
For a course-by-course evaluation, the translation goes to the agency with your transcripts; the agency emails its report to QCC.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For QCC that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation transfers need, or that QCC may ask a freshman for, is ordered from a listed agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
How should my translation look for Queensborough?
QCC points to CUNY's guide: complete and literal, same format as the original, on letterhead and signed by the translator (CUNY Document Translation Guidelines (PDF)).
Do I need a course-by-course evaluation as a freshman?
Only if QCC asks; otherwise it reviews your translated records or sends them to CUNY's central office (International students).
Which agencies does QCC accept for transfers?
Thirteen, including ECE, Educational Perspectives, IERF, IEE, The Evaluation Company, Transcript Research and WES (International students).
How long does QCC take with foreign documents?
About 10-15 business days for QCC's own review; up to 3-5 months if documents go to CUNY's processing center (International students).
Can I send copies of my diploma?
No. QCC accepts only official documents stamped and dated by the issuing school or exam board (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
