How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, asks international first-year applicants for official high school transcripts with a certified translation in English, and does not say who must translate.
Pacific accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
After admission, every college or university transcript from abroad must go to WES or ECE for a credit evaluation, with no exceptions; we do not provide that evaluation.
Pacific at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Pacific's international admissions page asks for a certified translation in English and does not restrict who makes it (international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

High school: a certified translation; college: WES or ECE
Pacific treats the two kinds of records differently.
A first-year applicant applies through the Common Application and submits official high school transcripts and the diploma with a certified translation in English (international students).
A transfer applicant submits official transcripts from every college attended and, once admitted, sends every foreign college transcript to WES or ECE for a credit evaluation; Pacific says there are no exceptions.
The two evaluators set their own translation rules. WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and not the applicant, and does not translate itself.
ECE accepts complete, literal translations in the original's format, lets applicants translate themselves, and sells an $85 Translation Waiver.
A certified eVerbary translation of the college transcript works for either, and the high school translation for Pacific itself.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to Pacific
Add the high school transcript and its certified translation to your Common Application; supplemental documents go to Undergraduate Admissions by mail (Pacific University: international students). College transcripts and their translation go to WES or ECE, which report to Pacific.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
At Pacific that means the WES or ECE credit evaluation of college study abroad is ordered from the agency; we translate the records.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Pacific University require a certified translation?
Yes, for high school transcripts not in English (Pacific University: international students). It does not say who must translate.
Which evaluation agency does Pacific accept?
WES or ECE, for every college or university transcript from abroad, with no exceptions (Pacific University: international students).
When do I need the evaluation?
After you are admitted, with the passport copy and bank statement (Pacific University: international students).
Does Pacific offer need-based aid to international students?
No. Pacific offers merit awards to international students but no other financial aid package (Pacific University: international students).
