How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Onondaga Community College asks international applicants to upload or email a copy of the official high school transcript and proof of graduation, with English translations if the documents were not issued in English; it does not say who must translate.

Onondaga Community College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

A credential evaluation is needed only for some foreign college work and only when OCC asks, from WES or Educational Perspectives; we do not provide evaluations.

OCC at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

OCC's international admission page says English translations are required for documents not originally issued in English (international admission), without restricting who translates; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. OCC requirements in detail

Translation

English translations required for documents not originally issued in English (International student admission).

Who may translate

Not stated.

High school records

A copy of the official transcript and proof of graduation: diploma, leaving certificate or graduation certificate (International student admission).

College records

Copies of official transcripts from every college attended; coursework outside the US may need an evaluation (International student admission).

Evaluation

Only if OCC requests it, and then from WES or Educational Perspectives; do not order one before (International student admission).

Financial proof

SUNY International Student Financial Statement with original bank statements showing $27,196 (International student admission).

Copies with translations, sent the easy way

OCC does not ask for sealed envelopes at the application stage.

You upload a copy of your official high school transcript and proof of graduation while applying, or email them to the International Student Office, and the page repeats twice that English translations are required for documents not originally issued in English (International student admission).

Proof of graduation can be a high school diploma, a leaving certificate or a graduation certificate, so translate whichever you send, front and back.

Because the documents travel as scans, upload the original and its certified translation together in one file, in the same order, so the office can read them side by side.

Wait for OCC before ordering an evaluation

OCC is explicit: some international college or university coursework may require a professional credential evaluation, and if it does, OCC may ask you to use World Education Services or Educational Perspectives. Do not complete an evaluation unless OCC requests one (International student admission).

If OCC does ask, the translation you already have can go to the agency.

WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, uploaded in your WES account (WES); Educational Perspectives accepts a reputable translation agency or certified professional translator, and also sells its own translations (Educational Perspectives).

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to OCC

  • Upload the documents and translations during the online application, or email them to the International Student Office (International student admission). If OCC later requests an evaluation, the agency sends its report to OCC.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For OCC that means we translate your records; if OCC asks for an evaluation, you order it from WES or Educational Perspectives.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Onondaga Community College need my transcript translated?

Yes, if it was not issued in English, along with the proof of graduation (International student admission).

Who can translate my documents for OCC?

OCC does not say (International student admission). A certified translation from a professional service qualifies.

Should I get a WES evaluation before applying to OCC?

No. OCC asks applicants not to complete an evaluation unless it requests one (International student admission).

Can I email my documents?

Yes. Upload them during the application or email them to the International Student Office (International student admission).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
