How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Oklahoma City University asks international undergraduate and graduate applicants for official transcripts from every secondary school and university, and every document in another language must come with a certified English translation; it does not say who must translate.

Oklahoma City University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. OCU converts GPAs in-house and lists a NACES evaluation such as WES or ECE "if applicable", which we do not provide.

OCU at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

OCU says documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation and does not restrict who translates (undergraduate international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Worth knowing about OCU

In-house GPA

Conversion by International Admissions.

OCU requirements in detail

Translation

Non-English transcripts must include a certified translation; any document in another language needs a certified English translation (Undergraduate international students).

Who may translate

Evaluation

International Admissions converts the GPA in-house; the checklist also lists a NACES evaluation, for example WES or ECE, "if applicable" for transcripts from outside the US (Undergraduate international students).

Originals

Documents with the school seal or stamp, or copies attested by an authorized agency or evaluation company; evaluation can begin with unofficial documents (Undergraduate international students).

Financial proof

Bank statement or sponsor letter, in English or with a translation, showing at least $33,290 (Undergraduate international students).

Graduate

Same translation rule; undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for the listed schools (graduate).

OCU reads the record itself, then asks if needed

OCU's undergraduate page says International Admissions converts the GPA in-house, requires a 2.5 on the 4.0 scale, and can begin with unofficial documents (Undergraduate international students).

The same checklist lists a transcript evaluation from a NACES-approved agency such as WES or ECE "if applicable"; ask the office whether your file needs one.

If it does, WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, which the same certified translation meets.

High school records OCU expects

For undergraduates, OCU asks for high school transcripts, mark sheets, grade sheets and national exam results, showing completion of high school or its equivalent (Undergraduate international students).

Translate each of them, and the bank statement or sponsor letter if it is not in English. Graduate applicants follow the same rule with their university records (Graduate international students).

Need a certified translation for OCU?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcripts and mark sheets
  • National exam results
  • University transcripts and degrees
  • Bank statement or sponsor letter, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to OCU

  • Upload the documents and their certified translations through the OCU online application portal; official documents follow at enrollment (Undergraduate international students).

  • We can send the translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For OCU that means we translate your documents; if a NACES evaluation applies to you, you order it from WES, ECE or another member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does OCU accept an eVerbary translation?

OCU asks for a certified English translation and does not say who must make it (Undergraduate international students); a certified translation from a professional service qualifies.

Do I need a WES or ECE evaluation for OCU?

OCU converts GPAs in-house and lists a NACES evaluation "if applicable" (Undergraduate international students); ask International Admissions about your case.

Can I apply with unofficial documents?

Yes, the evaluation can begin with them; official documents are required at enrollment (Undergraduate international students).

Does my bank statement need a translation?

Yes, unless it is in English (Undergraduate international students).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
