How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Ogeechee Technical College requires an official translation of transcripts in a language other than English and an English translation of bank and sponsorship documents; it does not say who must translate.
Ogeechee Technical College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
High school completed abroad also needs an official evaluation by a professional agency, and foreign college credentials a NACES course-by-course evaluation; Josef Silny, Lisano International and WES are recommended, and the evaluation is something we do not provide.
Ogeechee Tech at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Ogeechee Tech's international admissions page says an official translation is required for transcripts not in English and does not restrict who makes it (international admissions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Ogeechee Tech requirements in detail
Translation
An official translation of transcripts in a language other than English (International admissions).
Who may translate
Not stated (International admissions).
Financial documents
Bank statements or letters and notarized sponsorship documents must be accompanied by an English translation if not in English (International admissions).
Evaluation
High school abroad: an official evaluation by a professional evaluation agency; college credentials: a course-by-course evaluation by a NACES member. Recommended: Josef Silny, Lisano International, WES (International admissions).
Who counts as international
F-1 students, holders of any other visa, anyone educated outside the US, applicants abroad, and applicants whose permanent residency is pending (International admissions).
Originals
Transcripts in envelopes sealed by the sending institution; photocopies and faxes are not acceptable (International admissions).
Eligibility (all applicants)
Diplomas from secondary schools outside the US must be translated and evaluated by an approved outside evaluation organization (eligibility).
Not only for F-1 students
Ogeechee Tech classifies as international anyone educated outside the US, anyone on a visa of any class, and applicants whose permanent residency is still in process, not only F-1 students (international admissions).
Its general eligibility rules say the same for every applicant: a diploma from a secondary school outside the US must be translated and evaluated by an approved outside organization (eligibility).
If you completed a university degree, you may submit the evaluation of the university transcript instead of the high school one, and no high school or GED transcript is needed.
For high school records, translate the full diploma, every transcript year and the grading scale before you open the agency file.
Bank letters and sponsors: translation and the amount
For F-1 and M-1 applicants, original bank documents must reach the Admissions Office directly, be dated within three months, be issued on bank letterhead or signed and stamped by a bank official, and come with an English translation if not in English.
A family member or friend who pays must add a notarized sponsorship document, also translated if not in English (International admissions).
The page gives two figures: proof of financial capacity of at least $40,719 at the top, and a balance equivalent to $28,000 at a minimum, plus $2,500 per dependent, in the detailed rules (International admissions). Ask Admissions which applies before you gather and translate statements.
What the recommended agencies ask
WES accepts a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, not by the applicant.
Josef Silny & Associates asks for translations made in the US by ATA-certified translators; eVerbary can assign one on request through a free quote. Lisano International is also recommended; check its rule before ordering.

Uploading the translation to Ogeechee Tech
Mail original financial documents and sealed transcripts to the Admissions Office, 1 Joe Kennedy Blvd., Statesboro, GA 30458; the application is not processed until every item is in (International admissions).
The translations of your school records also go to the evaluation agency with the records. On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Ogeechee Tech that means we translate your transcripts and financial documents; the high school or course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from an agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What translation does Ogeechee Tech require?
An official translation of transcripts not in English; it does not say who makes it (International admissions). A certified translation from eVerbary qualifies.
Do my bank statements need a translation?
Yes, if they are not in English, and so does a sponsor's notarized document (International admissions).
Which evaluation agency should I use?
Ogeechee Tech recommends Josef Silny, Lisano International and WES; college credentials need a NACES member (International admissions).
I am a resident with a foreign diploma. Does this apply to me?
Yes. Applicants educated outside the US are classified as international, and foreign diplomas must be translated and evaluated (Admissions eligibility).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for Josef Silny?
Yes, on request. Ask for a free quote and say it is for Josef Silny. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
