How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Niagara University asks that every high school, secondary and college transcript sent to undergraduate admission be official and translated into English, and it does not say who must translate.

Niagara University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

College transcripts from outside the US, for undergraduate and graduate applicants alike, also need a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-verified vendor, which we do not provide.

Niagara University at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Niagara's international admissions page asks for transcripts translated into English and does not restrict who translates (international admissions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Niagara University requirements in detail

Translation

All transcripts sent to undergraduate admission must be official and translated into English for review (International admissions).

Who may translate

Evaluation (undergraduate)

College or university transcripts from outside the US need a course-by-course credit evaluation from a NACES-verified vendor (International admissions).

Evaluation (graduate)

Comprehensive course-by-course from a NACES-verified vendor; MBA applicants may choose a document-by-document report. The degree must equal a US bachelor's (graduate requirements).

Deadlines

Non-Canadian international students: May 1 for fall, November 1 for spring (International admissions).

English tests

IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 79 or Duolingo 110; waived with an English-medium high school letter or a year of study in the US (International admissions).

High school records: a translation, no evaluation

For first-year applicants, Niagara's rule is the translation itself: every transcript sent to the undergraduate admission office, from high school, secondary school or college, must be official and translated into English for review (international admissions).

The page names no evaluation for secondary records, so a first-year applicant with only a high school record sends the official transcript and its English translation.

If you ask for the English test waiver on the basis of English-medium schooling, the school's letter stating it is a document Niagara reads too, and needs translating if it is not in English.

College credit and graduate study: NACES course-by-course

College or university transcripts from outside the US are a different case.

Undergraduate transfers and graduate applicants need a course-by-course credit evaluation from a NACES-verified vendor; for graduate admission it must be a comprehensive course-by-course report, MBA applicants may choose document-by-document instead, and the foreign degree must come from an accredited institution and equal a US bachelor's (International admissions, graduate requirements).

The vendor sets its own translation rule.

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service (WES); ECE accepts any complete, literal translation and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates for the report (ECE). One certified translation can go both to Niagara and to the vendor.

Uploading the translation to Niagara University

  • Official transcripts and their English translations go to Niagara's undergraduate admission office; the NACES vendor sends its course-by-course evaluation of college transcripts to Niagara (International admissions).

Graduate applicants follow the graduate admissions requirements page (Graduate program application requirements).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Niagara University that means we translate your transcripts; the NACES course-by-course evaluation of college work is ordered by you from the vendor.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
