How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
MSU Denver asks for a professional certified English translation of any academic document not in English: complete, literal, word-for-word and in the same format, carrying a stamp or seal explaining the translator's qualifications and the translator's or service's full contact details.
Metropolitan State University of Denver accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; it does not accept translations by you, your family or friends.
High school records need no evaluation, while university transcripts from abroad need a NACES course-by-course report, which we do not provide.

MSU Denver requirements in detail
Translation
A complete, literal, word-for-word English translation in the same format as the original (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
Who may translate
Professional translators or a local EducationUSA office; MSU Denver suggests ATA members and accepts most credentialed translators it can verify. You, your family or friends may not translate (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
What the translation shows
Stamps or seals explaining the translator's qualifications, and the full name, mailing address, phone and email of the translator or translation service (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
High school records
Sent directly by the school, ministry of education or examination board, in the original language, plus the professional translation; no evaluation needed (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
University records
A course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member such as WES or ECE, sent by the agency; ideally with verified transcripts, otherwise a copy of the transcripts too (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
Deadlines
Spring 2027: November 1 and December 1, 2026; $50 international application fee (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
What MSU Denver checks on the translation itself
MSU Denver is one of the few universities that describes the translation document in detail (international admissions).
It must be complete, literal and word-for-word, in the same format as the original, and it must carry stamps or seals explaining the translator's qualifications plus the full name, mailing address, telephone number and email of the translator or translation service, so the office can verify it.
Acceptable translators are professional translators or a local EducationUSA office; for US translators it suggests searching the American Translators Association directory, and it accepts most credentialed translators it can verify.
Translations by applicants, family members or friends are not accepted. MSU Denver also lists discounted rates with two translation companies; using them is not required.
An eVerbary certified translation comes with a signed certificate of accuracy, and eVerbary is an ATA corporate member; if you need a translator individually certified by ATA, ask for a free quote.
High school records versus university records
For secondary records, MSU Denver wants the official document sent directly from your school, ministry of education or examination board, in the original language, showing all final results and a graduation date, plus a professional English translation; it does not require a credential evaluation at this level (MSU Denver: international student admissions). See high school diploma translation.
For university study abroad, a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member such as WES or ECE is required in addition to the transcripts, sent directly by the agency.
MSU Denver suggests choosing an agency that sends verified transcript copies with the report; otherwise it also needs a copy of your transcripts (MSU Denver: international student admissions). WES itself asks for a professional, word-for-word translation.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to MSU Denver
Apply through MSU Denver's application or the Common App, then submit the required materials before the international deadline; official secondary documents come from the issuing source and the professional translation goes to International Admissions (MSU Denver: international student admissions). eVerbary can email the translation directly to International Admissions on request.
For university records, the translation goes to WES, ECE or another NACES agency, which sends the evaluation to MSU Denver (MSU Denver: international student admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
At MSU Denver that means the NACES course-by-course evaluation for university records comes from an agency; we translate high school and university documents.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
