How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Lorain County Community College asks F-1 applicants for official school records and says all documents must be in English or officially translated into English, bank documents included; it does not say who must translate.
Lorain County Community College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
For a foreign high school diploma, LCCC's Records Office decides equivalency itself from a form or the leaving certificate, so an agency evaluation is optional, and evaluations are something we do not provide.
LCCC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
LCCC's catalog says all documents of international applicants must be in English or be officially translated into English (catalog), and its admission page asks the same for bank documents (international admission); neither restricts who translates, so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. LCCC requirements in detail
Translation
All documents in English or officially translated into English (Catalog: international students).
Who may translate
Not stated (Catalog: international students).
School records
Official, certified records issued by the school, ministry of education or government, not photocopies; a certified true copy or unofficial record if the original is unavailable (International admission information).
What to prove
Secondary completion, typically 12 years: final-year grade report and exam results, plus any university or English-study records (International admission information).
Bank documents
Original, issued by the bank within six months, at least $26,000 for the first year, in English or with an official English translation (International admission information).
Foreign high school diploma
Reviewed by the Records Office from a foreign high school equivalency form or the government-issued leaving certificate; a third-party evaluation is an alternative (admissions policy).
College credit
After acceptance you are told how to request an evaluation; credit is course-by-course from regionally accredited institutions (International admission information, transfer).
Deadlines (F-1)
Fall: June 30 (overseas and change of status), July 1 (transfers); spring: October 31 and December 1; no summer start from overseas (International admission information).
Official records, officially translated
LCCC asks for official, certified school records rather than photocopies, usually documents issued by the school, the ministry of education, the government or the office responsible for records.
If you cannot provide an original, a certified true copy or an unofficial record may be submitted (international admission).
The catalog adds the two rules that matter for translation: scanned copies may be used for the admission review, but official copies are required for course evaluation and course credit, and all documents must be in English or officially translated into English (catalog).
Because LCCC reads the final-year grade report and the secondary exam results to confirm about 12 years of schooling, translate both, and the exam certificate in full.
The same translation rule appears in the financial checklist: the bank letter or statement must be original, issued by the bank, and in English or with an official English translation (International admission information). See high school diploma translation.
Residents with a foreign diploma: the Records Office decides
Permanent residents, refugees and asylees apply through Enrollment, Financial and Career Services rather than the international office (catalog).
If you graduated from high school outside the US, LCCC's Records Office determines whether your diploma meets US high school completion equivalency, using reference guides such as AACRAO's Foreign Educational Credentials Required and the US Department of State.
You submit a foreign high school equivalency form or a copy of the secondary school leaving certificate issued by the government agency; more may be asked depending on the country, and a third-party evaluation is accepted instead (admissions policy).
This matters most for federal financial aid, which requires proof of high school completion.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to LCCC
F-1 applicants send the LCCC application, the International Student Application, the records and their translations to International Initiatives at 1005 N. Abbe Road, Elyria; processing and the acceptance letter take one to three weeks (International admission information).
Questions about transcript evaluation go to the Registrar's Office, registrar.transfer@lorainccc.edu or 440-366-4074 (Transfer to LCCC). eVerbary can email the translation directly to the admissions office on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For LCCC that means we translate your records, leaving certificate and bank documents; a third-party high school evaluation, if you choose one, comes from an evaluation agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of translation does LCCC accept?
An official English translation; LCCC does not say who must make it (Catalog: international students). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Can I send scanned copies?
For the admission review, yes; official copies are required later for course evaluation and credit (Catalog: international students).
Do I need WES or another agency for my foreign high school diploma?
No. The Records Office reviews it from an equivalency form or the leaving certificate; a third-party evaluation is an alternative (Admissions policy).
Does my bank statement need a translation?
Yes, if it is not in English: an official English translation (International admission information).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
