How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Long Beach City College asks F-1 applicants to upload each required document as its own PDF in the international application, and every document written in another language must include a certified English translation; it does not say who must translate.
Long Beach City College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
The Vocational Nursing program is stricter: foreign transcripts must be evaluated by ACEI, which asks for a translator certified by ATA, and eVerbary can provide one on request; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.
LBCC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
LBCC's International Student Program says all documents in languages other than English must include a certified English translation, without restricting who translates (International Student Program, catalog); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets it. LBCC requirements in detail
Translation
All documents written in languages other than English must include a certified English translation (International Student Program).
Who may translate
Not stated.
Where to upload
Each document individually, as a PDF with its certified English translation, in the online international application; paper documents are not accepted (International Student Program).
College transcripts
Official sealed college or university transcripts, which must be in English (catalog).
High school (under 18)
A copy of the official high school diploma; transcripts or certificates of class completion are not accepted instead (International Student Program).
Deadlines (from abroad)
June 15 for fall 2026, November 15 for spring 2027; $40 application fee (International Student Program).
Vocational Nursing
Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by ACEI (LBCC catalog: Vocational/Practical Nursing), which accepts translations by ATA-certified translators in the US (ACEI).
A certified translation for every document, one PDF at a time
LBCC's rule is broad.
The International Student Program page says all documents written in languages other than English must include a certified English translation, and that each required document is uploaded individually, in PDF form, with that translation.
That covers the bank statement from you or a family sponsor, a government sponsor's award letter, the tuberculosis test result and the academic records, not only transcripts.
The catalog repeats the rule and asks for official sealed college or university transcripts.
For applicants under 18 at enrollment, LBCC asks for a copy of the official high school diploma and says school transcripts or certificates of class completion are not accepted in its place (International Student Program).
Translate the diploma itself, with its seals and signatures; see high school diploma translation.
Vocational Nursing: an ACEI evaluation
The Vocational Nursing program asks for proof of high school graduation and says all foreign transcripts must be evaluated by ACEI.
ACEI asks for a complete, word-for-word translation by a translator certified by the American Translators Association if it is done in the US, together with the original-language documents.
If you apply to this program, ask eVerbary for a free quote for an ATA-certified translator and say it is for ACEI.
Need a certified translation for LBCC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma (required if you are under 18)
- College or university transcripts, sealed
- Bank statement from you or your sponsor
- Tuberculosis test result
- Government sponsor award letter or embassy financial guarantee
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to LBCC
Upload each document with its certified English translation as a separate PDF in the LBCC international application portal; LBCC does not accept paper documents (International Student Program).
For Vocational Nursing, the translation goes to ACEI with your transcripts, and ACEI's evaluation goes to the program (LBCC catalog: Vocational/Practical Nursing).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for LBCC, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For LBCC that means we translate your diploma, transcripts, bank statement and medical documents; the ACEI evaluation for Vocational Nursing is ordered by you from ACEI.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does LBCC require certified translations?
Yes, for every document not in English (International Student Program). LBCC does not say who must translate; a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Does my bank statement need a translation?
Yes, if it is not in English, like every other document in the application (International Student Program).
I am under 18. Can I send my high school transcripts?
No. LBCC asks for the official high school diploma; transcripts are not accepted instead (International Student Program).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for LBCC Vocational Nursing?
Yes. ACEI, which the program uses, asks for an ATA-certified translator (ACEI). Ask for a free quote and say it is for ACEI: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian cost $34.95 per page; Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian $44.95. ATA certifies no other languages into English.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
