How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Lassen Community College asks F-1 applicants for a copy of their high school transcripts and publishes no translation rule; courses from a foreign university can count toward an associate degree only through an evaluation by a NACES member showing upper or lower division, semester units and letter grades.

Lassen's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Lassen at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Lassen reads foreign coursework through evaluations by NACES members (2026-2027 catalog), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE and IERF, also NACES members, do as well. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

June 15

Lassen requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the translation is what the NACES agency needs before it can evaluate a record not in English.

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency. WES, ECE and IERF accept a professional translation.

Admission records

A copy of your high school transcripts (catalog).

Evaluation

By a NACES member, stating upper or lower division, semester unit equivalents and letter grades (College Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF, lassencollege.edu)).

Limits

Foreign coursework cannot meet core classes, CSU GE Breadth or IGETC except Language Other than English, nor American History/Government, English or reading; it can meet prerequisites and Lassen terminal degrees or certificates (catalog, application).

Bank verification

A Certificate of Balance signed by a bank officer, converted into US dollars: $33,838 for one year (International Student Application (PDF)).

Deadlines

June 15 for fall, October 15 for spring; scan and email the application or mail it (application, web page).

What a NACES evaluation can do for you at Lassen

Under AP 5012, courses from a foreign nation's appropriately accredited university may count toward a Lassen associate degree.

The catalog asks for NACES evaluations that state for each course whether it is upper or lower division, how many semester units it equals and the letter grade, so order a course-by-course report rather than a general one.

The credit has limits.

Foreign coursework cannot be used for core classes or for the CSU GE Breadth or IGETC patterns, except Language Other than English, and the application adds that it will not satisfy American History/Government, English or reading.

It can clear prerequisites and count toward Lassen's terminal degrees and certificates (catalog, application).

See a counselor before you request the evaluation: a large number of units takes time and can delay enrollment (International Student Application (PDF)).

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, and does not accept translations by applicants.

ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, including your own, or sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for the report.

IERF asks for typed, line-by-line, word-for-word translations and may require a professional one. Other NACES members set their own rules.

The high school transcript copy for admission carries no translation rule in Lassen's documents; translating it helps the office read it (see high school diploma translation). The bank's Certificate of Balance must show the amount converted into US dollars (International Student Application (PDF)).

Need a certified translation for Lassen?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • University transcripts and degree certificates, for the NACES evaluation
  • High school transcripts
  • Bank Certificate of Balance or statement

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Lassen

  • Scan and email the International Student Application with the high school transcript copy and bank verification to Lassen's admissions office, or mail it to Lassen Community College, PO Box 3000, Susanville (International students).

  • For credit, the translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the report goes to Admissions and Records with a Transcript Evaluation Request (catalog).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Lassen that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you after the translation.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lassen require translated transcripts?

Lassen publishes no translation rule; F-1 applicants send a copy of their high school transcripts (College Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF, lassencollege.edu)). Foreign university courses go through a NACES evaluation, and the agency asks for the translation.

What must the NACES evaluation show?

Upper or lower division, semester unit equivalents and letter grades for each course (College Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF, lassencollege.edu)).

Can foreign courses count for general education?

No, except Language Other than English; they can meet prerequisites and Lassen terminal degrees or certificates (College Catalog 2026-2027 (PDF, lassencollege.edu)).

Can I use an eVerbary translation for WES?

Yes. WES accepts translations by a professional translator, not by applicants (WES).

How much money must my bank show?

$33,838 for one year, converted into US dollars on the Certificate of Balance (International Student Application (PDF)).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
