How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Lake-Sumter State College publishes no translation rule: complete transcripts from every institution outside the US must be evaluated by an outside education evaluation agency at your expense, and LSSC recommends World Education Services or International Education Evaluations.

LSSC's evaluation agencies, WES and IEE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your sealed records; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

Worth knowing about LSSC

Two agencies named

WES or IEE, recommended by LSSC.

Complete transcripts from all institutions outside the US.

Official seal

Records must carry the school's seal.

LSSC requirements in detail

Translation

LSSC states no translation rule; international transcripts reach it through an agency evaluation (Sending transcripts to LSSC).

Who may translate

Set by the agency: WES asks for a professional translator, IEE for a certified translator.

Evaluation

Complete transcripts from all institutions outside the US, evaluated by an agency at your expense; you need the equivalent of a US high school diploma (International student admissions guide).

Recommended agencies

World Education Services and International Education Evaluations (Sending transcripts to LSSC).

Records

Must carry the official seal of the institution (International student admissions guide).

Who it applies to

The rule sits on LSSC's general page for sending transcripts, so it covers every applicant with international transcripts (Sending transcripts to LSSC).

What WES and IEE ask for the translation

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, in the same order as the original, and does not accept translations by applicants; it does not translate documents itself.

IEE wants a translation by a certified translator and rejects translations by the applicant or a notary public; it also sells its own translations from $60 per page.

An eVerbary certified translation meets both: it is made by a professional translator, keeps the layout and order of the original, and comes with a signed certification of accuracy.

From the high school diploma to college credit

LSSC admits students with the equivalent of a US high school diploma, and the agency's report is how you show it (International student admissions guide).

Translate the full high school diploma and transcripts, with seals, before you open the agency file.

If you also studied at a college abroad, those transcripts go to the agency too: LSSC asks for complete transcripts from all institutions outside the US.

Documents applicants usually translate

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to LSSC

  • The translation goes to WES or IEE with your sealed records; the agency sends its evaluation to LSSC's Admissions and Records Office (Sending transcripts to LSSC).

  • Apply through the LSSC admissions application and send financial documents to the Admissions and Records Office (International student admissions guide). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For LSSC that means we translate your records; the evaluation is ordered by you from WES, IEE or another agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Which evaluation agency does LSSC accept?

LSSC asks for a third-party international education evaluation agency and recommends WES or IEE (Sending transcripts to LSSC).

Can I translate my own transcripts for the WES or IEE evaluation?

No. WES does not accept applicants' translations (WES) and IEE does not accept translations by the client (IEE).

Do I need to evaluate transcripts from every school I attended abroad?

Yes. LSSC asks for complete transcripts from all institutions outside the US (International student admissions guide).

Who pays for the evaluation?

You do (International student admissions guide).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
