How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Kansas City Kansas Community College asks for secondary school transcripts and graduation certificates in the native language accompanied by an official English translation, from F-1 applicants, permanent residents, refugees and asylees alike, and does not say who must translate.
Kansas City Kansas Community College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Credit for college work abroad needs a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, which we do not provide.
KCKCC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
KCKCC's admission pages ask for credentials in the native language accompanied by an official English translation and do not restrict who translates (new F-1 students, transcripts to KCKCC); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Worth knowing about KCKCC
Native language and English
The original plus an official translation.
Paper originals only
Scans and photocopies are not official.
NACES for college credit
KCKCC does not evaluate foreign credit itself.
KCKCC requirements in detail
Translation
Secondary transcripts and the graduation certificate, diploma or national exam certificate, in the native language and accompanied by an official English translation (New F-1 and M-1 students, immigrant students).
Who may translate
Not stated (New F-1 and M-1 students).
F-1 applicants
Upload transcripts, certificate and translations into My Account; bring the original paper documents to Admissions on arrival, before you can enroll (New F-1 and M-1 students).
Non-US high school (residents)
An International High School Graduation Verification Request with the original paper credentials and an official English translation, in person or by US mail (How do I get my transcript to KCKCC?, request form).
Foreign college credit
A course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, sent by the agency to the Registrar's Office; KCKCC does not evaluate foreign transfer credit (How do I get my transcript to KCKCC?, form).
Exam councils
WASSCE results come directly from WAEC and Kenya KCSE results directly from KNEC; personal copies are not accepted (Immigrant and Freely Associated States students).
Deadlines (F-1)
July 1 for fall, October 1 for spring; no summer admission, and the deadline is not flexible (New F-1 and M-1 students).
The same rule for F-1 students, immigrants and residents
KCKCC writes one phrase into every checklist: credentials in the native language and accompanied by an official English translation.
New F-1 students upload their upper secondary transcripts and graduation certificate with the translation into My Account and then hand in the original paper documents on arrival (new F-1 students).
Permanent residents, refugees and asylees submit the same transcripts and leaving or national exam certificate, also with an official English translation (immigrant students).
If you live in the US and finished secondary school abroad, you file an International High School Graduation Verification Request.
The packet holds the completed form and your original paper credentials, in the native language with an official English translation; photocopies, scans and images are not official, and the request cannot be submitted electronically (transcripts to KCKCC, verification form).
Processing takes up to 5 business days, and you collect your originals at Admissions afterwards. A certified high school diploma translation is the piece most applicants need here.
College credit from abroad goes through a NACES member
KCKCC follows NACES guidelines for credit earned at institutions outside the US and does not perform transfer credit evaluations itself (How do I get my transcript to KCKCC?, International High School Graduation Verification Request Form (PDF)).
You choose a NACES member, order a course-by-course evaluation, typically $150 to $200 and 7 to 10 business days, and have it sent to the Registrar's Office at 7250 State Avenue.
KCKCC warns that non-English credentials will likely need an official English translation and that many agencies sell translations for an extra fee (international transfer credit).
Among NACES members, WES accepts a translation from a professional service and does not translate itself, and ECE accepts any complete word-for-word translation.
Need a certified translation for KCKCC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Upper secondary school transcripts, every year
- Graduation certificate, diploma or national examination certificate
- College or university transcripts, for a NACES evaluation
- Syllabi of university studies, if the agency asks for them
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to KCKCC
F-1 applicants upload the translation with the transcript into My Account (New F-1 and M-1 students).
Residents with a non-US diploma attach the printed translation to the verification packet and deliver it in person or by mail to the Admissions Office (International High School Graduation Verification Request Form (PDF)); eVerbary can mail a hard copy in a sealed, signed envelope if you choose it at checkout.
For foreign college credit, the translation goes to the NACES agency with your records, and the agency sends the evaluation to the Registrar (How do I get my transcript to KCKCC?).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For KCKCC that means we translate your school records; the course-by-course evaluation for college credit comes from a NACES member, and exam results from WAEC or KNEC come from those councils.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What translation does KCKCC accept?
An official English translation accompanying the native-language credential; KCKCC does not say who must make it (New F-1 and M-1 students). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
I am a permanent resident with a diploma from another country. What do I submit?
Your official transcripts and graduation or exam certificate in the native language with an official English translation (Immigrant and Freely Associated States students), through the International High School Graduation Verification Request (How do I get my transcript to KCKCC?).
Can I email the verification request?
No. It is accepted only in person or by US mail, with original paper credentials (International High School Graduation Verification Request Form (PDF)).
Does KCKCC evaluate my foreign college courses?
No. It asks for a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, sent directly to the Registrar (How do I get my transcript to KCKCC?).
When are F-1 applications due?
July 1 for fall and October 1 for spring; KCKCC says the deadline is not flexible (New F-1 and M-1 students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
