Judson University asks international applicants for secondary and university records in the original language, as official originals or attested copies, together with an Official English Translation, and it does not say who must make that translation.

Judson University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

Judson recommends sending records to the evaluation service InCred (or WES for some transfers); that evaluation is something we do not provide.

Judson at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Judson asks for an Official English Translation of records not in English and does not restrict who translates (international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 28, 2026.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
  • The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
  • Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
  • The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Judson requirements in detail

Translation

Submit records in the original language and an Official English Translation if they are not in English (International students).

Who may translate

Originals or copies

Final secondary transcripts and exam results must be official originals or attested copies (International students).

Evaluation

Applicants outside the US send transcripts to InCred, which Judson recommends; transfers in the US with fewer than 28 credits are pointed to WES or another service such as InCred (International students).

Transfer credit

Course descriptions are needed to transfer college courses; if not in English, an official translation is needed (International students).

Deadlines

June 1 for fall and November 1 for spring; the $50 application fee is waived until January 1 (International students).

English

TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5, or SAT/ACT instead (International students).

Three documents to translate for a transfer

Judson's list for transfers from outside the US goes further than most: the final secondary transcript or exam results, the transcripts of all university work, and, for any course you want credited, the course descriptions, each with an official translation if not in English (International students).

Course descriptions are often long syllabi; translate only the courses you want reviewed, but translate each description in full so the faculty can compare content.

Both the original-language document and the translation are submitted, so keep the translation tied to each page of the original, with the stamps and signatures rendered.

InCred, WES and where the translation fits

For first-year applicants and transfers from outside the US, Judson asks schools to send official transcripts to InCred, a credential evaluation service, and recommends going through InCred for the translated records (International students).

For US transfers with fewer than 28 credits and foreign records, it recommends WES and allows another service such as InCred (International students).

Judson's own rule, the Official English Translation, does not name a translator, so a certified translation from a professional service can go to the evaluator and to Judson.

Need a certified translation for Judson?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Final secondary school transcript and exam results
  • University transcripts from every post-secondary school attended
  • Course descriptions, for courses you want transferred
  • Certificate of Finances supporting documents, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Judson

  • Send the original-language records and their translations as Judson's international steps describe: through InCred where Judson recommends it, or to the Office of Admissions, 1151 N State St., Elgin, IL 60123, for US applicants (International students).

  • The Certificate of Finances, showing $20,000 a year, goes to Judson's international admissions representative (International students).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Judson that means we translate your transcripts, exam results and course descriptions; the InCred or WES evaluation is ordered by you from the agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of translation does Judson accept?

An Official English Translation; Judson does not say who must make it (International students). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.

Do I submit the original documents too?

Yes. Judson asks for records in the original language as official originals or attested copies, plus the translation (International students).

Do course descriptions need a translation?

Yes, if they are not in English and you want the courses transferred (International students).

Which evaluation service does Judson recommend?

InCred for applicants outside the US; WES, or another service such as InCred, for US transfers with fewer than 28 credits (International students).

When is the deadline?

June 1 for fall and November 1 for spring (International students).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
