Johnson County Community College publishes no translation rule of its own: it reviews foreign transcripts internally for the I-20 and financial aid, and credit for study abroad comes only through a course-by-course evaluation with GPA from a NACES or AICE member, mailed directly to JCCC and treated as a recommendation.
JCCC's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

Sample translation: a Mexican high school certificate
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Spanish sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CCT, CURP and the state abbreviation Jal. are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, so an evaluator does not have to look up a Mexican acronym.
- Courtesy and degree titles (C., Mtra., Lic.) are kept as printed and explained once; names keep both surnames in place.
- Grades stay on the 5-to-10 scale the certificate prints, with its minimum passing grade. Converting them is the evaluator's job.
- The six semesters keep the certificate's two columns, and the seal, signatures and QR code are described in brackets where they appear.

JCCC requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the translation is what the evaluator needs.
Who may translate
Evaluation for credit
Course-by-course with a GPA calculation from a NACES or AICE member, mailed directly to the Office of Admission; hand-delivered reports are not considered (Transfer credits for international and immigrant students).
What counts
Only bachelor-level credits; evaluations transfer as elective credit and are a recommendation (Transfer credits for international and immigrant students).
Not accepted
Evaluations by non-members or by other US colleges (Transfer credits for international and immigrant students).
JCCC's own review
JCCC evaluates foreign transcripts internally to verify equivalence for the I-20 and for financial aid (with AICE); for internal use only (Transfer credits for international and immigrant students).
New F-1 students
Proof of secondary completion (diploma or certificate), uploaded or emailed to iiss@jccc.edu (New F-1 students from overseas).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
JCCC names no agency; any NACES or AICE member qualifies (transfer credits).
Among NACES members, WES requires a word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants, and ECE, which Kansas may require for some licenses, accepts complete, literal translations, including the applicant's own, and sells an $85 waiver to translate internally for its report.
Order the course-by-course evaluation with a GPA calculation and have it mailed directly to the JCCC Office of Admission, 12345 College Blvd., Box 41; if you want your own copy, the agency charges extra.
Weigh the cost before ordering
JCCC is unusually frank about the limits: an evaluation is only a recommendation, credits come in as electives, only bachelor-level work is considered, and there is no guarantee any credit will transfer; foreign credits can also affect financial aid eligibility and required courses (Transfer credits for international and immigrant students).
Course substitutions start with an academic counselor, and syllabi from your home country help that conversation. Nursing and CNA licensure in Kansas require a separate CGFNS evaluation.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to JCCC
The translation goes to the NACES or AICE agency with your records; the agency mails the evaluation directly to JCCC (Transfer credits for international and immigrant students). F-1 documents go to iiss@jccc.edu or the online form (New F-1 students from overseas).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For JCCC that means we translate your records for the agency; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you, and JCCC decides what credit, if any, to give.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
