How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Indian River State College publishes no translation rule: if you graduated from a high school abroad, a current NACES member must evaluate your credentials and state that they equal a standard US high school diploma, and foreign college credit needs a course-by-course evaluation from each institution.

IRSC's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the evaluation itself is ordered by you, and we do not provide it.

IRSC requirements in detail

Translation

IRSC states no translation rule; foreign records reach it through a NACES evaluation (International students). The agency sets the translation rule.

Who may translate

Set by the NACES agency; WES, ECE and IERF accept a professional translation service.

High school abroad

A NACES evaluation stating the equivalent of a standard US high school diploma; course-by-course if you studied two years of a foreign language (International students).

College abroad

Optional; for transfer, a course-by-course evaluation from each institution attended, fees paid by you, no guarantee of credit (International students).

Where it goes

The evaluation goes to the Student Records Office; original documents are mailed to International Student Services, 3209 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce (International students).

Financial documents

Original, issued by a financial institution, less than six months old (International students).

Recommended dates (F-1)

May 15 for fall, October 15 for spring, March 1 for summer (International students).

What NACES agencies ask for the translation

IRSC accepts any current NACES member, so the agency's translation rule is the one that applies. WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and rejects translations by applicants.

ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, including your own, or translates for its report only under an $85 waiver.

IERF asks for typed, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one.

If you choose an agency that requires a translator certified by ATA, eVerbary can assign one on request for the languages ATA certifies.

What the high school evaluation must say

IRSC does not just want a report: the evaluation must state that you completed secondary education equivalent to a standard US high school diploma (International students).

If you took two years of a foreign (non-native) language in high school, request a course-by-course evaluation so those courses show. Translate the full high school diploma and every year of grades before you open the agency file.

Foreign college study is optional for admission. If you want it to transfer, each institution needs its own course-by-course evaluation, and IRSC warns that no coursework is guaranteed to transfer (admission packet).

Need a certified translation for IRSC?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school diploma or leaving certificate
  • High school transcripts, every year
  • College or university transcripts, one evaluation per institution
  • Bank documents, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to IRSC

  • The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records, not to IRSC; you provide the finished evaluation to the Student Records Office (International students).

  • Original documents are mailed to IRSC International Student Services, 3209 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce (International students). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For IRSC that means we translate your diplomas and transcripts; the NACES evaluation is ordered and paid by you after the translation.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does IRSC accept my translated diploma without an evaluation?

No. A foreign high school graduate needs a NACES evaluation stating US diploma equivalency (International students).

Which evaluation agency should I use for IRSC?

Any current NACES member (International students); compare their translation rules before ordering.

Do I need to send my foreign university transcripts?

Only if you want transfer credit; then a course-by-course evaluation from each institution (International students).

When should I apply?

IRSC recommends May 15 for fall, October 15 for spring and March 1 for summer (International students).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
