Hope International University asks international graduate applicants for official transcripts sent directly by the institution, accepts translations from any recognized official translation agency with its seal of authenticity and accuracy, and does not accept personal translations; all foreign transcripts must also be evaluated on the US grading system by an agency such as WES.
Hope International University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation is a separate report, paid by the student, which we do not produce.

Hope International requirements in detail
Translation
From any recognized official translation agency, with its seal of authenticity and accuracy (Graduate international admission requirements).
Who may translate
A recognized translation agency; not the applicant.
Evaluation
All foreign transcripts evaluated on the US grading system by an agency, paid by the student; WES recommended (requirements), or one of WES, AERC, Global Services Associates, IERF and ACEI (international page).
Official transcripts
Sent directly from the undergraduate college or university (Graduate international students).
Academic standing
The US equivalent of a 3.0 undergraduate GPA (Graduate international admission requirements).
Money
Affidavit of Financial Support with a current bank statement or letter; all first-semester tuition, room, board and fees paid before enrollment (requirements, international page).
Translation by an agency, then an evaluation
Hope International sets two steps for graduate applicants with records from abroad.
First, the translation: its admission requirements accept translations from any recognized official translation agency with its seal of authenticity and accuracy, and reject personal translations.
An eVerbary certified translation comes with a signed certificate of translation accuracy.
Second, all foreign transcripts go to an evaluation agency for a report on the US grading system, which Hope uses to check the 3.0 GPA equivalent; the student pays for it.
The two graduate pages differ on the agency: the requirements page recommends WES, while the international students page recommends five services, WES, American Education Research Corporation, Global Services Associates, IERF and ACEI.
WES accepts translations by professional services and not by applicants, so the same translation can go to WES.
The rest of the graduate file
Hope asks for the online application with a $50 fee, two reference forms, official transcripts sent directly by your undergraduate institution, TOEFL 86 or IELTS 6.5 unless you are from a Commonwealth nation or studied in English, the SEVIS or transfer form, a one-page essay on why you want to study at Hope, and the Affidavit of Financial Support with a current bank statement.
International students pay all tuition, room, board and fees for the first semester before enrolling (Graduate international students).

Uploading the translation to Hope International
Send the certified translation with your application; your undergraduate institution sends the official transcripts directly, and the evaluation agency sends its report to Hope International admissions (Graduate international students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Hope International that means we translate your records; the evaluation on the US grading system is ordered and paid for by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
