Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from Homestead Schools's public pages (sources).
Homestead Schools asks international (M-1) applicants for the original high school transcript with an English translation, to be evaluated, and does not say who must translate it; its catalog requires every foreign graduate to have credentials evaluated for US education equivalency.
Homestead Schools accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The equivalency evaluation comes from an evaluation service, which is something we do not provide.
Homestead Schools at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Homestead's policies for international students ask for the high school transcript "with English translation" and do not restrict who translates (international student manual, p. 4); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 28, 2026.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Homestead Schools requirements in detail
Translation
Original high school transcript with English translation, to be evaluated (Homestead Schools: policies and procedures for international students (PDF)).
Who may translate
Evaluation
Foreign graduates must have credentials evaluated to prove US education equivalency (general requirements, catalog).
RN-BSN
International transcripts evaluated to a US equivalent; a California RN who must order transcripts from abroad can start under conditional admission and has 30 days to provide them (Homestead Schools catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
MSN
A bachelor's degree from outside the US evaluated by a credential evaluation provider such as a NACES or AICE member (Homestead Schools catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Transfer credit
Coursework from foreign institutions requires an equivalency report (Homestead Schools catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Visa type
International students enter on an M-1 vocational visa (Homestead Schools: policies and procedures for international students (PDF)).
Translation for M-1 applicants, evaluation for everyone
Homestead's policies for international students list the documents an M-1 applicant sends: an application completed in English, a personal letter, TOEFL or IELTS scores, the original high school transcript with an English translation, to be evaluated, medical clearance and insurance.
The manual does not name a translator type, so a certified translation with a signed statement of accuracy is the safe choice.
The evaluation applies beyond visa students.
Homestead's general requirements and catalog say any applicant whose high school diploma is from abroad must have it evaluated for US education equivalency, and that coursework from foreign institutions needs an equivalency report before credit is granted.
Evaluation services set their own translation rules; WES, for example, wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator.
Nurses educated abroad: RN-BSN and MSN
For the RN-BSN, Homestead admits only California residents with a current RN license; international transcripts must be evaluated to a US equivalent, and you may be asked to take an extra English writing course.
An RN who still has to order transcripts from another country can start under conditional admission but must provide them within 30 days, or be dropped (catalog).
For the MSN, a bachelor's degree from outside the US must be evaluated by a credential evaluation provider with published membership standards, such as a NACES or AICE member, and the GPA must be 3.0 or higher (Homestead Schools catalog 2026-2027 (PDF)).
Translate the diploma and transcripts early so the 30-day window does not run out.

Uploading the translation to Homestead Schools
Mail or bring the original transcript and its English translation to Homestead Schools, 23800 Hawthorne Blvd., Suite 200, Torrance, with the application (Homestead Schools: policies and procedures for international students (PDF)).
For the equivalency evaluation, send the records and translation to the evaluation service and give Homestead the report; it is also requested with the Credit Granting Form for transfer credit (Homestead Schools: general requirements).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Homestead Schools that means we translate your transcripts and diplomas; the US-equivalency evaluation comes from an evaluation service.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
