How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Florida State College at Jacksonville publishes no translation rule of its own: anyone who finished high school outside the US submits a document-by-document evaluation from a NACES member, and foreign college study needs a course-by-course evaluation, both at the student's expense.
FSCJ's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the agency writes the evaluation, which we do not provide.
FSCJ at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
FSCJ asks for an evaluation from a NACES member and accepts evaluations only from a NACES agency (first-time students), and WES, a NACES member, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE and IERF accept one as well. FSCJ requirements in detail
Translation
FSCJ states no translation rule; foreign records reach it through a NACES evaluation (International Student Services). The agency sets the translation rule.
Who may translate
Set by the NACES agency you choose; WES, ECE and IERF accept a professional translation service.
High school abroad
A general or document-by-document evaluation from a NACES member, for every degree-seeking applicant who completed high school outside the US (First time in college: admission steps).
College or university abroad
A course-by-course evaluation by a NACES member; document-by-document is not accepted for post-secondary study (First time in college: admission steps).
Agency
Any company listed at naces.org (International Student Services); paid by the student (First time in college: admission steps).
Deadlines (F-1)
Fall June 20, spring October 31, summer March 25 (International Student Services).
Financial documents
Bank statements on letterhead with signature or stamp, less than six months old (International Student Services).
What NACES agencies ask for the translation
FSCJ lets you pick any NACES member, so the translation rule is the agency's.
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, and does not accept translations by applicants.
ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, even your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates for its report only.
IERF asks for typed, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one.
Some NACES members ask for a translator certified by ATA; if you choose one of them, eVerbary can assign one on request for the languages ATA certifies.
One rule for every applicant with a foreign diploma
The evaluation is not only for F-1 students.
FSCJ's first-time-in-college steps say that anyone who completed high school outside the US or its territories submits a document-by-document evaluation of the high school transcript, performed at the student's expense by a NACES member, and that FSCJ accepts evaluations only from NACES agencies (First time in college: admission steps).
Translate the full high school diploma and every year of transcripts before you open the agency file.
A document-by-document report is acceptable only for high school. If you also attended a college or university abroad, that record needs a course-by-course evaluation, which lists each course, credit and grade (First time in college: admission steps).
Need a certified translation for FSCJ?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma or leaving certificate
- High school transcripts, every year
- University transcripts and degree certificates, for the course-by-course evaluation
- Bank statements, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to FSCJ
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records, not to FSCJ; the agency then sends its evaluation to the college (International Student Services).
International applicants apply online and email questions and documents to fscjinternational@fscj.edu (International Student Services). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For FSCJ that means we translate your diplomas and transcripts; the NACES evaluation is ordered and paid by you after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does FSCJ accept my foreign transcript with a translation?
FSCJ reads foreign records through a NACES evaluation: document-by-document for high school, course-by-course for college (International Student Services). The translation goes to the agency.
I am a US resident with a high school diploma from abroad. What do I need?
A document-by-document evaluation of your high school transcript from a NACES member, at your expense (First time in college: admission steps).
Can I use a document-by-document evaluation for my university studies?
No. FSCJ accepts it only for high school; post-secondary study needs a course-by-course evaluation (First time in college: admission steps).
Which agency should I use for FSCJ?
Any member listed at naces.org (International Student Services). Compare their translation rules: WES, for example, does not accept self-translations (WES).
When are FSCJ's international deadlines?
June 20 for fall, October 31 for spring and March 25 for summer (International Student Services).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
