EFSC reads your high school records itself
Most Florida colleges send foreign diplomas to an evaluation agency.
Eastern Florida State asks you to email scanned secondary school transcripts, the graduation certificate and any exam results to iss@easternflorida.edu, and its International Student Services office evaluates them for admission (International transcripts information).
Scans must be clear and show every signature, seal and apostille. EFSC can still ask for a NACES document-by-document evaluation of any foreign document.
Its country list says which documents prove the equivalent of a US high school diploma, for example the Bachillerato and the certificado de estudios for each year from Mexico, or the Baccalauréat and final exam marks from Haiti, and asks for word-by-word certified English translations.
Translate the diploma and every page of the high school records the list names for your country.
Translations twice: with the scans and as originals
The scans and translations open your admission file, but EFSC accepts scans for admission purposes only.
Before you register for courses, the original official transcripts, certificates and translations go to International Student Services by mail, at 3865 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne (International transcripts information). Keep the signed translation from eVerbary with your originals.
University study abroad is optional. To have it considered for transfer credit, submit an original course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member; EFSC does not accept evaluations from other companies (F-1 steps).

Uploading the translation to EFSC
Email the scans and the certified translations to iss@easternflorida.edu to start the admission review (International transcripts information). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
Before registration, mail the original official documents and translations to Eastern Florida State College, Attn: International Services, 3865 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935 (International transcripts information).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For EFSC that means we translate your secondary and university records; a NACES evaluation, for transfer credit or if EFSC asks for one, comes from an evaluation agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does the translator have to be in Florida?
EFSC says you can use an official service in your home country or translation services, and links a list of Florida companies (International transcripts information, list); it asks for certified English translations and does not say other services are refused. If in doubt, ask iss@easternflorida.edu.
Do I need a credential evaluation for my foreign high school diploma?
Usually not: EFSC reviews the records itself, but it may ask for a NACES document-by-document evaluation (International transcripts information).
Can I send scans?
Yes, for admission only; originals and translations are due before course registration (International transcripts information).
Which documents do I need from my country?
See EFSC's country list, which also asks for word-by-word certified translations (International secondary school document requirements (PDF)).
Will my foreign university credits transfer?
Only through an original course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member (Application steps: F-1 student visa).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
